Check the fuses if it has some. It could be a blown output transistor.

If they are marked "phono" then these are dedicated for the use of a turntable and one which will use a magnetic cartridge. You should use ones marked "tuner" or any marked "aux". Even a "tape in" would be better.

Where i can get an marantz pm493 amp volume knob also on the amp bass trible is now working and only 1 side speaker power is working any idea what is wrong..

you can get the know right from the dealer at this link http://us.marantz.com/us/Support/Pages/ServiceCenter.aspx as far as the one speaker working, switch the speakers to make sure its the unit and not the speaker box, if that doesn't help you probably have a blown output in the unit itself,, since its a Marantz Its worth the cost of having it repaired,, as with all High end receivers or amps, Be sure the unit is in the off position before you attach or disconnect any speakers ,, if they short out,, our gonna blow the output

Just picked up a Marantz SR-19, Everything looks like it works but I get No sound out of it. Unfortunately, there is NO remote and was wondering if there is a setting like Mute or a speaker select on the...

A Mute indicator would tell you if it was muted. Make sure no Tape or Multichannel Input are selected by mistake.

There are supposed to be jumpers across the Pre_Outs to Main In's in the back when you're NOT using external amps. You could substitute short RCA cables.

Hiya Sally_fisher,

Is the feedback sound a low hum and also does this 'feedback sound" occur whether it is selected to CD, turntable, or on all of them regardless of select?

I have a Marantz SR5500 and the unit will not stay powered on.

I have this problem. it is caused by an o/c mains transformer primary winding. the clicking and flashing light is the stanbyy circuit trying to switch the power on to the main (large) transformer when it gets no voltage out it switches back off

Marantz CDR631 is dead

open it up and take the mechanism out, then you should see a servo PCB screwed to the underside of the mechanism.
unscrew this and where the connecting wires plug in from the main PCB, you should see 2 or 3 fuses which look a bit like capacitors and should be red in colour marked MPXXX eg. MP100?
replace these if you can find spares, if not bridge them with a bit of thin wire soldered in place and then it should switch on once reassembled.
the clicking sound you mention will be the main power supply capacitors running and this is normal.

Marantz PMD671 recorder - download problem

I need to know what model mac you have. This would help. Also what operating system you are using. Older macs may not be compatible unless you update the system. The latest macs with the intel chip work fine with this. Once quick solution is to update your software to the latest versions by going to your apple with your mouse in the upper left corner of your screen and then clicking it. Scroll down to the title software update. click that and then click update now. Check the boxes of all you want to update and then hit enter. *Note: you must be connected to the internet in order to make these updates. I would suggest being connected something faster than dial up.
After you have done your updates, try to reconnect the Marantz. Remeber to connect it first then turn it on.
Another solution is to format the card on your mac first by using a card reader and the program Disk Utilities located in your utilities folder. It is important to choose the Fat 32 format (You will see this in your pull down menu). Note: This will erase everything on your card.
If you have a card reader, you can always take the card out of the recorder and try to read it that way as there may be a communication issue with the mac and the recorder, but if it can be read on the PC and not the mac, I doubt that is the issue.

Receiver will not turn on

It is probably shorted out. the fact that you hear a relay click is bad news for you. Take it in and tell them that you cannot get power from the switch through to the main board.
