Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Does the tata indica gls 2006 model have a speedometer cable or a speedometer sensor? If it does have a sensor, where would I find it in the engine?

talk with a service dealer for this
if it is EFI controlled (ECM) the speedo will work off the output shaft of the transmission ( final drive rpms equate to road speed ) and if auto will be a vehicle speed sensor or if manual around the extension housing of the gear box
again talk with a service center for exact details

Motor surge at constant driving speed

Acceleration is defined as a change in speed, either a negative acceleration (slowing down) or a positive acceleration (speeding up). If you have constant speed, you are not accelerating.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speed o keeps flickering

i would say it is the electrical sender on the gbox, trans, unless it continually drops to zero then i would say it is an earth problem in the dash but if it goes up over the spped you are doing then under etc etc, then the problem is the elec signal being sent by the speed sensor on the trans. hope i have been of some assistance.
