SOURCE: Camera freezing

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it. try tapping side by side, it always works!

SOURCE: My Finepix s5700 will not turn on even with new

A possible cause could be the "cut off" switch for the xd picture card door. Check the plastic tabs on the door for damage. If it looks ok then open and close it a few times to see if the micro switch on the board is stuck. This is a cut off switch to prevent accidental removal of the picture card whilst the camera is powered up. The battery door may have 1 aswell so best to check this also. If there is damage then you maybe able to effect a repair to the plastic tab or replace the door. if the micro switch is damaged then you can bypass with either a solder bridge or wire. Have you put the batteries in correctly? - just an after thought....

If removing of the batteries, for a few moments, (that will reset the camera) and reinserting them won't change the startup, I'm afraid you have a defect in the camera. Make sure you have the correct batteries, as described in the manual. If nothing can bring the camera to work correct, or if the same error keeps coming back, please return the camera and ask for an other one.

Turn off the camera, and turn on again, shown on my screen in my fuji digital camera jx650

When the camera detects an error, it will tell you to turn it of and on again. Most of the time this all solve minor problems, which are caused by a software glitch. If the error returns, you could try this. While the camera is off, remove the battery, of say a minute or so. Than reinsert the battery and switch on again.
If the error keeps coming back, you should contact a Fuji certified crevice centre.
Always make sure, the battery is charged and the contacts are clean and shiny. (battery and in the camera, the battery compartment.)

Turn camera on, lens comes out, goes back in ,and says lens error.

try these fixes

1.Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable nimh 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If using rechargeables, and they're more than a year old, consider purchasing new rechargeable batteries as they may not be providing sufficient power to startup the camera. If new batteries didn't work, try pressing and holding the 'Function' or OK button while turning the camera on.

2.If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

3.Place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to autofocus while the lens is extending, hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins back into their slots.

4.Insert the cameras audio/video (AV) cable, and turn the camera on. Inserting this cable ensures that the camera's LCD screen remains off during the start process. Thus extra battery power is available to the camera's lens motor during startup. This extra power can be useful in overcoming grit or sand particals that may be jamming the lens. If the AV cable doesn't fix the lens error by itself, consider keeping this cable installed while trying fix 3 as a means to provide extra power to help to this fix. Reinsert the cable only after tapping the camera.

Camera has new batteries but will turn on a few seconds & then go off & now the lense is stuck & will not go back in or turn on HELP????

You should charge your new Nikon Coolpix L10 battery before using it for the first time. And if you continue to turn on it and discharge the battery again and again until can't turn on, the new battery maybe damaged. come to Nikon EN-EL10 Battery and see the battery maintaion.

My lens does not retract when i turn the power off. When i turn it on again the message 'turn power off then on again' keeps coming. what can i do

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.
