My Sansui TV was struck by lightning and the repair company cannot get the part STRF 6686 to fix it.

Hi
That is an odd regulator chip that you seek, so odd, that there is not a listing anywhere. Even with the people that make the chips in this series. Can you please check that it is not an STRF6656 or an STRF6668. These at least have datasheets from suppliers, meaning at some point they were obtainable. It may be if the set has been hit by lightning, that the chip is actually burnt, and the numbers a little hard to see. It is possible that it is a low volume part made specially for sansui, but I doubt it.
What is the model of the TV as well. Cheers

Sansui TV, V chip accidentally set

If you are on a protected channel where you are getting the "Protected Program by TV-etc" you have to get out of that channel and go to a channel that is not protected. That will allow you to hit your "Menu" button and access the V-Chip settings on your TV. Depending on the type of TV you have, you may end up using your Vol Up button as a sort of "Enter" button. Hope that helps!
