Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Would it be best to buy pre amped speakers instead then for the yamaha rx-v363 that I already asked about?, or would it be just as well to buy a pair of higher quality hi-fi speakers. Also the receiver has 2 separate connectors for the front speakers, 1 fairly large and the other is a small push tab connector, now if I connect just 2 two front speakers to receiver would that mean that the 2 channels have half the full 500w output or would it just give me the 100w output that each speaker channel receives when in 5.1 use?

You won't get more than 100W from each channel no matter how many you have hooked up

SOURCE: Marantz NR1402 AV receiver Going to standby Mode

There could be a short in one (or more) of the speaker connections. Try disconnecting all speakers and turning on the receiver. If it still switches to standby, there may be an internal problem.

SOURCE: Is this receiver capable of speaker signal output

According to the manual, which you should have:

1st question: No "A" and "B" choice, just one set of Front speakers. Center speaker, yes. It requires a self-amplified subwoofer.

2nd question: In the manual. Select Speaker Sizes, presence, distances and other parameters. Run Test Tone for relative volume of each.

3rd question: Yes, for stereo material only. It has no multichannel Line Level pre-outs.

SOURCE: wiring speakers

your main 2 speakers (front left & right)..hopefully the 5th speaker is a subwoofer right if not it will be...the last 2 speakers will be use as the rear (left & right)...in order for this to sound correct the receiver should have a button (5:1) depressed ...otherwise you just have 5 regular speakers...

SOURCE: want to buy YAMAHA RXZ11 receiver but where to get yamaha recomen

Since you're buying a $5400 receiver, You should head down to an audio shop and sample some speakers for yourself.

Speakers that sound wonderful to one person, may sound bad to another. Your ears are unique. Go to a local audio shop and take a CD with some of your favorite music and start listening to them. Energy speakers go well with Yamaha receivers, so I'd recommend you check those out. (The Energy RC Series is a little higher end than their Connoisseur series, but also cost a bit more.)

Again, When you're paying $5400 for a Receiver, you'll want to do some research on your own, and sample some speakers that YOUR ears like.

Rx-v363 powers on then immediately off

The Yamaha receiver is going into shutdown because one or two channels have shorted audio output semiconductors, first check all speaker wires for shorts, if okay! all parts that are effected will need to be replaced.

The receiver automatically pick the best configuration for the source audio. Most music is 2 channels being up-sampled to 4 channels. (Sub-out is separate.)

Sound not coming through speakers correctly

Check that the speaker setting on the receiver is set to large not small. (if you have 6inch or larger woofers)

If you have only small speakers you will need a subwoofer.
