SOURCE: Possible transmission problem

As far as the tires turning in the opposite direction when hoisted in the air...their suppose to do that so your fine there. Can you give us a bit more to go on than it wont start? Will it turn over? There are usually two reasons why an engine won't start...spark & fuel. If either one of these are not go.

hi there Brian 357638

sounds like you have a safety switch problem

try disconnecting seat switch and retry if works could be wire grounding some where or faulty switch then try fitting a jump wire to seat switch wire connector retry or you have a blade engagement switch playing up or a nuetral switch playing up but more likely a seat switch

take a look

Hi, gearshift will not move because the brake lever is frozen. To fix your problem, remove the short brake lever(half inch socket I think), remove the brake pad housing under it(seven sixteenth socket). Inside this housing are two pins that need to be free and greased. Knock them out and clean them with every paper, also clean the holes they slide in with a drill bit. Reassembled and adjust the half inch nut so that the brake lever rotates quarter of an inch before it activates the brakes. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

How to adjust transmission cable to shift right

Turn the ignition key in a clockwise direction until it reaches its first position, meaning the position the key occupies before it begins to crank the engine if turned further, then move the transmission's shift knob to the "D" position. Turning the key to this position is necessary to unlock the transmission's shift knob. The engine need not be started to adjust the transmission's cable.

Jack up the vehicle with a shop jack, then lower the car onto safety stands to increase the workspace underneath the transmission.

Loosen, but do not remove, the single nut which attaches the end of the transmission's shift cable to the driver's side of the transmission with a wrench.

Position the shift lever on the side of the transmission, where the end of the shift cable attaches to, to the "drive" setting by first rotating the lever in a clockwise direction until the lever stops. Slowly rotate the lever in a counterclockwise direction. As the lever is rotated, it will click. The first time the lever clicks, the transmission is in second gear. The second time the lever clicks, the transmission is in the "drive" position.

Tighten the single nut which attaches the end of the transmission's shift cable to the transmission's shift lever to between 10- and 20 foot-pounds of torque with a torque wrench.

Lift the vehicle with the jack and remove the stands, then lower the vehicle to the ground.

I hope this helps.

I can't disingage the lever to cut grass on my craftsman riding lawn mover. Now because of this I can't start the mover.

the lever moves an arm on the deck connected to a pivoting plate holding the idler pulley. when you push up the lever, it pulls the pivot [and idler pulley] back and puts tension on the belt. if this pivot gets rusted, it sticks and won't release tension on the belt. find the pivot point and lubricate it thoroughly with oil, wd-40, or liquid wrench, then work it back and forth by hand until it is freed up

Mower starts fine but stalls immediately upon

Check the switch connected to the brake curcuit.
As you suspect, that is more than likely the problem.
Good luck.

Ryobi gas chainsaw- chainsaw brake is stuck on. How do I release

You just have to pull the lever back, like it was on the saw, until it clicks/unlocks. It may be hard to do, but thats what has to be done.

Clutch will not disingage when i pull the lever .

Sounds like it is not adjusted properly, or you have the clutch misaligned. You can check for proper operation with the bike off, and the clutch cover off while pulling the clutch lever. Should be able to see it move 1/4-3/8 of an inch.
