Question about Televison & Video
Filament on green crt stays on the green color goes off in 2-3 minutes after the tv is turned on,picture is still ok with red and blue colors
Check the CRT base card to green CRT for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more solder to each terminals. Check the solder terminals of the CRT base connection socket too. The fault is with some loose solder terminal itself at the green video output stage circuit. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Sounds like the red picture tube could be shorting internally which would cause the "all red" condition. In which case you'd have to replace the red tube. Are there horizontal (slightly slanted) lines through the picture as well when this is happening and a very very bright screen? If so it's most likely the tube.

SOURCE: Picture Problem
In that set its usually a bad picture tube. The lines you are seeing are called retrace lines. You can take it to a shop and they may be able to rejuvenate the tube

This will be a lack of green drive caused either by the green output transistor having failed or no green output from the driver IC. As to which you have depends on how old the TV is. These are located on the CRT base (square type board connected to the neck of the CRT. You would need a multimeter to check the voltages going to the green output on the crt. It is also very possible the CRT is internally faulty giving no green, if this is so, you will need the crt (tube) to be replaced,it is not very economical to do this now a days.
