SOURCE: We have a 457 model

I recently ordered just the plug on the bottom of the shaft and it solved the problem. the company was really good about sending the plug right out for free at that. it worked and im back in business. just replaced it. no taking the pump apart.

How do you refill?

Remove all pressure by keeping the hose open until no pressure is left. place pump handle down toward tank. Turn count counter clock wise to unscrew. Take assembly out of tank then fill tank. Reinstall in reverse order.

No pressur in my home and garden sprayer

You have a leak. First ensure the pressure relief valve is closed. You can try spraying soapy water on the outside while pumping it up, and look for bubbles. The one way valve might be leaking, too. Good luck.

I have a 3-gallon gilmour sprayer--has worked well-only several month old-able to get good compression but can not get anyspray-even after taking apart and rinsing your help is appreciated thanks ...

This situation sounds like a plugged hose. Keep taking apart and you will find something plugging a small orifice, somewhere... Always flush with clean water after each use, many garden sprays crystalize over time......

TO UNLOCK PUMP:
Turn handle counterclockwise until 3-prong clamp is loose.
Then rotate clamp counterclockwise to stop and lift out.

Thank you for using FixYa.
Keep me posted.

Sprayer drips instead of spraying

Pressure test: pump it several times then open the cylinder (like you were going to pour in more solution): was there a noticeable pressure release? If not, then your problem is in the pump assembly. Examine the end (the end which goes into the tank) flapper valve. While the pump is out of the tank, pump it a few times. Do you see/hear the flapper move with inflowing air? If not, herein lies your problem. Put a few drops of oil down the assembly where the pump slides up/down. Work the pump a few times. If this does not solve the problem, try to dissamble the pump mechanism and MAYBE you will be able to replace faulty intern parts/gasket. If you DO have internal pressure in the tank, yet no spraying action: disassemble all parts coming after the pump. Hose, off/on switch/lever, spray tip. Yes, it will completely disassemble. Inspect/clean everything/blow out the spray tip or use a thin needle to clean the tip. While you have everything apart, use "silicon plumbers' grease" and generously lube all of the o-rings: this will afford a very good seal and prevent pressure loss. You can buy the plumbers' grease at the big box stores or plumbing supply places. Good luck.

My ChapinSpray N Go sprayer won't build air pressure in the tank when I pump the sprayer

Sounds like a faulty seal to me. Submerge the container in water and pump, bubbles will rise from the seal. Easy to fix, I had a look and you can pick up a seal replacement kit for this model at Amazon.com for under $12.00. You should also find them at any reperitable hardware store. Hope this helps :)

Sprayer will not stop pumping when switched to pump mode after primed it will not shut down it just keeps pumping. .

Paint sprayer.
Flip lever down to prime > paint comes out small plastic hose.
Flip lever up to put pressure on spray line.

Problem: prime keeps running and spray line never gets pressure.

Future solution:
You did not clean sprayer very well last time, or it is rusted. When cleaning, run full 5 gallons of cleaner through machine twice.
You should fill spray line and pump with kerosene if machine sits idle more than few days.
We all forget.

Good news: you have prime. If machine doesn't prime, you probably have to disassemble.

More good news: There are two steel balls inside pump. Tap top one with hammer to loosen. Keep machine running. Keep lever up. Start tapping top one. Tap a little harder... keep tapping ... sometimes it will not free up ... take apart pipe and see if you can nudge ball loose >> be careful not to scratch anything... the sprayer is high pressure and all parts have to fit
