SOURCE: I'm having trouble changing the bulb in a Kodak

First of all, verify you are using the correct lamp: it should be a 120volt, 300watt, ANSI Code "ELH" lamp. (This may seem too basic, but you'd be surprised at the number of people who try the incorrect lamp).
If the lamp is correct and you can not insert it by pushing the base of the lamp into the terminal connector relatively easily, then chances are you have a build-up of material on one or both of the lamp contacts caused by arcing (arcing is caused by loose lamp terminal contacts). If this is the case, then you need to replace the lamp terminal assembly (the ceramic-like white piece the lamp terminals should slide into). You should still be able to buy a lamp terminal assembly for your Ektagraphic AF-1 from: www.micro-tools.com
Good Luck !!

Changed a blown low beam bulb in my 2006 Infinity M35X and new bulb did not work. Tried the good one in that location and still no go. What's next?

I am presuming that it is just one side not working - if it is both low beams then it could be a fuse or relay.if standard lamps (not projectors) if just one side then:
If you have a test light or multimeter on volts- check for power at the connector for the headlamp. If no power then may be broken wire or if your vehicle has the AFS (adjustable light system) there may be a problem with that also- is there a AFS light "on" on the instrument cluster?

If projector lamps then could be a fuse or transformer in the drive cct.

Where can I find a replacement bulb (24V 150 W Q.I. type Hanimex Type A1/216) for a vivitar slide projector.

Try searching at www.bulbman.com or at a "Batteries plus Bulbs" franchise. Look on the lamp for a 3-letter code. This ANSI code is unique to the lamp and is a great aid in lamp identification.

I need a rotary carrousel for 3000 AF

Your best bet is the internet - do a Google search for a new or used one. Be sure to be specific on the brand and model of the projector you need the tray to fit. "Carousel" is a Kodak trademark, and someone looking to make a quick buck might assume you can use a Kodak tray on your Vivitar (which we know you can't). And there's still a TON of Kodak trays out there. Good Luck! Jim

I need a 24V/150W bulb for my Vivitar 3000AF slide projector Where can I get one and how much?

Check the list of available lamps at: www.bulbman.com !! If you have the 3-alpha (a 3-letter ANSI designation unique to each lamp design) lamp code it will be easier to find it.... Good Luck !!

I have Hanimex Rondex 120 rotary magazines. I was told these would work in the Vivitar 5000AF. Is this true, as the slide on mine is jamming on the return?

I have a VIVITAR 5000 AF slide projector.

Occasionally, the slide gets stuck while operating the mechanical hand to change the slide. Most of the time it works when I push the slide carrier by hand. Very very infrequently, the projector actually throws out the slide.
I have ascertained that teh Kodak slides which are mounted on paper frames are much too thin for the mechanical hand pushing teh slide in and out. The solution is to remount teh slides on palstic frames or some how add to the thickness of the slide. I have not tried it yet , though.

Any more ideas?

Will not turn on

There are buss fuses inside. Most likely one or 2 are blown. There are 5-6 screws in the bottom(4 corners and 2 in the middle) that are in deep holes. these hold the cover on. The other screws on the surface are for various mechanisms, and should not be removed. Turn it over, lift off the cover (leave the cord attached, after unplugging it..). The fuses were right on top for my 3000 AF. Replacements may be available at an auto parts or hardware store. The type is usually marked on the cap on the end (voltage and amperage). You should check for any frayed or loose wires that caused it to blow, but sometimes, with age, heat, shock (dropped it?) they go out.
