Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

I have the Tomy Digetal Plus TD350 monitor. The walk about unit looses all charge and switches itself off. I have to open the back disconnect battery and replace for it to start again. If the walk about handset is placed back on the stand as soon as I've done this it switches off again. I have been using this monitor for thirteen months, it's been an issue for around 6 months. Please advise.

I just had the same problem. Could be dirty terminals. I took the battery out, cleaned the terminals on the battery and phone with a pencil eraser, put the battery back in and it's working fine. (Says fully charged, where just a few minutes ago it said low battery).

You are pretty close to the solution. The problem is the charge detection in the handset. All handsets on a cordless phone detect the battery level with an hexadecimal value in the memory. Each hex value equal a volt value of the battery. EX: 3.5v = 9B
3.6v = 9C 3.7v =9D etc... The problem is the hex value in your defective handset are all mess up. So 9B is not 3.5v anymore. Then your handset could last 1hr after foul charge or doesn't alert you before the phone goes dead due to low BAtt.

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-TGA101S base not charging.

Here are a couple things you can try.

Clean the charging contacts, this can be done two ways. The manufacture's recommend using a pencil eraser. I recomend using a q-tip and some rubbing alchol. Just rub the alchol soaked q-tip on all the metal contacts on the bases and the bottom of the handset.

Gooo luck.
Hope this helps

I lost a connection of tomy digital viedo srv400

Hello. I think I've worked this one out. Turn both on as usual. Go to the main menu screen on the parent unit and click on add camera icon. Then click camera one.... but before clicking the add button, go to the camera itself and click the power button as follows - two short clicks, then hold the power button - the green light will start flashing. Keep holding the power button on the camera and click the add button icon on the parent unit. They should pair. The camera may turn off then, but it should be paired - simply turn it on again. Worked on mine, but took a long time to work out how to fix. Please email if you need any help. hbmb8@bigpond.com

I have tomy classic baby monitor from a year now, from few days parent unit is beeping continiously, have checked connection and evrything and even the green light does goes red

The unit may have a back-up battery installed that is low on charge. Replace the back-up battery. The unit is probably still working because you have it plugged-in.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Plug the battery backup into a working electrical outlet. If the battery backup turns on when the power button is pressed, then the problem may be that the previous electrical outlet is faulty. Proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step two.
  • 2 Reset the circuit breaker on the battery backup. APC battery backups have a labeled circuit breaker button located on the unit near the phone line, fax line, USB, network and coaxial cable inputs. Press the button to reset the circuit breaker. Power on the battery backup by pressing the power button. If the battery backup powers on, proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step six.

  • 3 Determine if the battery backup is charged and providing battery power. With the battery backup on and plugged into a working electrical outlet, plug a computer monitor into one of the battery backup outlets labeled "battery backup plus surge protection" on the battery backup. (APC power supplies have some outlets that provide only surge protection while the other outlets provide surge protection plus battery backup.) Turn the monitor on. Unplug the battery backup power cord from the wall outlet. If the monitor remains on, the battery is holding a charge, supplying electrical power and the battery backup is working properly. If the monitor goes off, proceed to step four.
  • 4 Charge the battery. Plug the battery backup into an electrical outlet and allow the battery to charge for 16 hours. This will fully charge the battery.
  • 5 Test battery charge. Once the battery is fully charged, repeat step three. If the monitor stays on when power is interrupted to the battery backup, the issue is solved and the problem resulted from an incompletely charged battery. If the monitor turns off when power is interrupted, the battery within the battery backup is faulty and needs to be replaced.
  • 6 Replace the battery backup unit. The unit itself is faulty. If the battery backup is under warranty, contact APC to request a replacement.

Sounds like the battery - the parent unit has a rechargeable batter pack. You can get a replacement battery at most appliance stores.

FA error code on screen Tomy Walkabout Platinum monitor

Hi, I've had the same problem with the Tomy WalkAbout Platinum - and, indeed, no help to be found on any website.

Eventually traced the problem to the temperature reset button on the child unit (the blue button to the side). This button was lodged solid in the device; on inspection because of the wire of the temperature sensor.

I've opened up the child unit (remove the four small screws with a watchmakers screwdriver) and removed the entire temp. reset button.

The set up works as normal (but with a bit of gap). With a bit more time, you might be able to fix the temperature sensor wire and get the temperature reset to work again.

    Regards,

    M

    alison65,

good day, the only possible cause why your player can only power up using it's own charger or through pc connection is:

    1) The connection of the rechargeable battery inside the player is loose or out of contact

    2) The rechargeable battery itself is faulty
    3) The connection from the charging line is loose or out of contact

most likely your problem is within the internal of the unit.

    cheers,
    mark

In my opinion it is always very risky to buy some second hand unit because you can not be sure if every hardware component works properly. The best solution for you is to contact service partner and let them check the PDA. It is also possible that power supply electronic has some malfunction
