Display is too large for screen

Hello Dr. Bankert and thank you for contacting Fixya, I will be glad to assist you.

What you need to do is turn off a setting within the System Preferences > Universal Access feature within your Power Mac G5.

To do this, you need to click on the Apple menu icon, located in the upper left corner of your screen. When you do click on that menu icon select System Preferences from the drop down menu:

Then go into System Preferences and look for the pane (icon) entitled Universal Access 9_16_2012_10_06_45_pm.png

• Click on the Universal Access and you will see this view:

9_16_2012_10_08_18_pm.png

Under the Seeing tab, make sure Zoom is turned to Off

This should bring your enlarged screen back to its normal size.

You can now also click the Show All button located at the top of that window (on the left side) to return back to System Preferences main window.

From within System Preferences, select Displays and try selecting a lower resolution like 1280 x 1024 or 1024 x768 for example and see if selecting one of those resolution settings helps to reduce the size of your display window.

Please let me know if any of these simple recommended steps help.
If you have more questions, I will be glad to assist you further.

Regards,

-The MacTechTrainer

How do i align my computer screen to fit my screen

Align my computer screen to fit my screen?

I think you are saying that what is displayed on your screen is not aligned and you can't see everything.

Try adjusting your screen resolution. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization to click on. You might can just Right Click on a blank area on the display screen and select Properties. Once you get the Display Properties to open select the Settings or Resolution tab. Adjust the screen Resolution by sliding the bar over to the right. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons, thereby the more will fit on the screen.

Cannot adjust that fit to the screen

Install the correct video drivers for your computer video card and also install the correct monitor driver if available. You can usually find these at your computer manufacturers support web page. Once installed you should be able to adjust the video resolution to fit the entire screen.

Good luck

Mac mini display problem

Sounds like your monitor is not set right. Is the monitor LCD or CRT type? You can open system preferences from the top of the screen under the apple icon. Try and see if you can adjust the resolution settings. Also if you have an LCD screen set to "auto" adjust to reset the screen. Good Luck.
