Line up the deck where it needs to be, and lower the lever....the hanging links should come close to where they go, then use the pins (or whatever) to insert into the hanging levers....Leave the handle lowered, then hook the belt onto the engine pulley, then line it up with the pulley on the deck...you may have removed the belt guides, so put them back on...They help keep the belt from falling off.
Check your work to make sure things look right...You should be done.

first you'll need a model number. look on the underside of the seat, or on the metal plate between the rear wheels for the model no. sticker. wards tractors were made by MTD. there will be two numbers plus the serial number, write 'em both down. then log on to www.milacalawn.com. in most cases, you'll be able to pull up an owner's manual for your tractor with one or the other model numbers

I might know what the problem is, on those models there should be a ignition switch, or a killswitch under the seat of the mower. When the 2 people sat on it, it might have jarred or broke the switch. You might want to check it to see if thats your problem. I hope this might help.

If your engine is an OHV engine you need to adjust intake and exhaust valves. Go to smalleng.com watch video clip. or go to U tube lots of tutorials there. Good luck...

SOURCE: I have a Montgomery Ward Lawn Tractor TMO33934A. My question is there an adjustment to engage shift lever. It worked fine when I put it away for the winter. This year it starts fine but it doesn't
Mine does this when not use a long time. I oil all bushings on clutch and shaft.
