Several things come to mind, depending on the system hookup. As long as the volume is not turned all the way down on the TV and it's not muted (or put on S.A.P. mode). Or if the TV is hooked up to a cable or satellite TV box and it's volume is not turned all the way down or muted or cables loose or disconnected. Then I would check for sound by playing back a DVD to see if the sound comes through that. If there is still no sound, then there may be a problem with the TV itself (if it has headphone jacks, you could also test for sound there). For the TV, I would suspect the sound chip may be bad unless there's a broken solder connection on the board.

First of all check the menu settings if the sound is enabled.
you can ise the headset out or te speakers, if headset is selected no sound will come thru speakers.
the 2nd problem seeking method is: After opening it you can test some speaker lying around the house. Connect this speaker instead of the speaker in the tv. When you can hear sound now, youve probably demolished the original speakers. When this all does not fixes the problem take a measuring device and measure the sound output channels of the audio chipset.
yours sincerely, the alltime electronics guru!

Be sure your speakers are not turned off, check to see if you have audio on any other input ( problem could be your source..i.e. the cable/satelite box) also try hooking up to other inputs; may just be that particular input which would isolate the problem to the input/output pcb.(not necessary to replace the pcb unless you need that particular I/O port) could also be your wiring between the source & your TV.

Sometimes if it is the source you might just need to reset the microprocessor in it by unplugging unit for 30sec to 1 min & then plug back in. This could also apply to your TV.

Could also be your speakers(rare that both go out together, but certainly possible)
Another possibility is the power supply feeding to the I/O PCB. if you're missing that voltage(usually 12-16VDC) you won't have audio. This, again, is one of the least likely issues, but never overlook.

Check to see if you have 12 or 18 volts on power supply for the sound.Could be a voltage regulator on main board

  • Make sure that your audio cables are plugged in properly to the correct ports if your audio is distorted or noisy. Every cable should be inserted completely. If you still encounter bad audio, replace the cable and then attempt to use a different device with the old cable. This will help you pinpoint the source of the bad audio problem.

Use the "Volume up" button on the remote or TV buttons panel to turn up the TV audio volume if the volume is quiet. If the volume is still quiet, check to see if your audio source device has volume settings. If it does, turn the up the volume on your device (see your device documentation if you need help with this).

Press the "Mute" button on your remote control to disable the mute function if you can't hear any audio. Once disabled, press and hold the "Volume up" button on your remote control to turn up the volume. If there is still no audio, press the "Menu" button on your remote control, select the "Audio" menu, and ensure that the "TV Speakers" are set to "On." If you are still not having any luck and are using the built-in TV tuner, open "MTS Audio" inside the "Tuner" menu and make sure it is set to "Stereo/English." If there is still no audio, verify that all your audio cables (including the antenna cable if you are using one) are plugged securely into the proper ports on your TV and audio source device (if applicable). If you are using an antenna, reposition it to a clear, open area; preferably near a window. If your audio source device has audio settings, check to make sure they are set the way they should be (see device documentation).

What is the meaning of the name Olivia

The name Olivia was first used by Shakespeare in his play "Twelfth Night". It doesn't mean anything in particular. Specifically, it doesn't mean "olive" or "olive tree" in Latin (that would be "Oliva") or Greek (which would be written as "Elia" ). It's a pretty name though, and because it brings the olive tree to mind, it may be associated with fruitfulness and wisdom (because the olive is a symbol of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom).

In other words, your TV is in dead condition now. Check for any blown up fuse on its main power regulator board. You must have to open the TV to access it.

Olivia brand TV wont' keep channels remembered

This means that the memory is not working as it seems that the memory back up is not effective. it can be fault on the processor IC as the voltages , the data IN/OUT signals must be checked.
If voltage to back up is absent then there will be memory loss. If not the IC must be replaced, use proper soldering/desoldering irons with static protection when replacing.

My olivia exploded what can i do

Sound like it's time for a new TV, i dont know Olivia TV's but depending what has gone on it then it may be beyond economical repair, If it went bang then i would say its not good as that would be a high voltage component going and would more than likely take other compnents out. Are you Insured ?????

Not really. Repairs are right about $150 - $250. Resistor Kit, Caps., maybe other parts, and labor charges.
