when it comes to printers not printing in color its usually a software issue . Now there are times that you buy the cartridges are bad but lets do some troubleshooting.
Go to support.dell.com
Support Dell US
Select your product by service tag or click on printers and look for your model
Select operating system and the software and driver will appear below in blue lettering click on it download and install software and fireware. Install and run.
Make sure you are connected by USB to your computer.
Print out a test page to make sure all is running ok.
Reseat the cartridges and make sure the contacts are clean.
