The belt on my brute self propelled lawn mower came off and the directions said there was a screw holding the cover but there isn't. how do i get the cover off to put the belt back on?

The question is: how did the belt "come off" with the cover in place? If the belt is still under the cover, did you try releasing the spring and simply slipping the belt back onto the sheaves, then re-affixing the spring? If there is not cover retaining fastener (screw or nut, etc) how is the cover held in place?

Manuel for a cubcadet 1525 modle how to put the belt on

There should be a diagram on the mower deck. The deck should be on the front hooks and have the rear pins engaged. Follow the diagram to install the belt. It may help to tie it in place with twine as you go. The last pulley to slip the belt over is the one on extreme left. You will need a 3/8" socket driver to slip into the square hole. Pull that back to extend the spring until there is enough slack to slide the belt over the last pulley.

My riding lawn mower slips in and out of gear while going forward

Sounds like your transmission is shot if its a geared mower. If its a belt driven hydrostatic mower the belt is slipping and needs to be replaced.

How too replace the blade drive belt on a murray lawn mower

Its actually really easy. First, determine the size of your mower deck. Is it 30" 42" 54" etc. Then, go to a home improvement store like Lowes or The Home Depot (or an online retailer.) Search for a replacement belt for your deck size. Removing the old one is easy. Pry back the retainers on the engine pulley and slip the belt off of the pulley. This should make it very easy to pull off the mower deck. Installation is the opposite of removal. Make sure you note the belt arrangement for proper installation. Good luck!

Belt jump off the drive pulley

I don't have this kind of mower. But I was faced with the same problem recently. I got my belt back on by taking a large wrench and affixing it to the bolt head holding the pulley which you want to slip the belt on. Hold the belt firmly against the pulley and turn the wrench and the belt in the grove will walk around the pulley until it slips in place.
