SOURCE: Treadmill Incline Works, belt does not move

Check the drive belt. It may be loose or broken. If the belt is loose, then to tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down.

SOURCE: My nordic track treadmill's walking belt stops

Unplug the unit remove the motor shroud inspect the drive belt if the rubber feel slick then my recommendation is to replace the drive belt. Adjusting the drive belt may take care of the problem if you do not need to adjust it too tight. If you choose to do the adjusting and feel you have adjusted the running belt thinking it would resolve the slipping, then back the tension down until it the running belt is slipping then adjust until the slippage is resolved.

My Horizon T80 treadmill is emitting a smell after operating a while not an electric smell but a rubber chemical smell

How old is the walking belt? When was it last replaced? How many miles are on the belt. Seem like your belt and deck is worn.

I have a proform 8.5 that when walk on smell like rubber burning

Dear Sir:

Thank you by your request, I will help you right now.

BURNING SMELL If you can walk on your treadmill but you get a burning smell from it,you have a bad problem and discontinue use immediately and unplug the treadmill. Burning smells are most commonly associated with the following problems: 1) Very high belt/deck friction. 2) Short in the motor. 3) Short in the wiring or electronics. 4) Literally cooking the lacquer or cardboard core (on cheap machines)in the motor from belt friction or a drive system obstruction. Friction is the #1 cause of this problem. Many cheaper treadmills have amotor with a cardboard core (people wonder why we are so down on cheap treadmills) and if the voltage and amperage through themotor heats it up sufficiently, it begins to smolder. If this is the case, you normally have to replace the belt and the motor and inspectthe deck. If the armature has cooked enough in the motor, you also have to replace the motor. If the belt and deck check out OK, check for a short in the motor. Youcan run the motor with an independent power source like a fullycharged cordless drill battery to see if the symptoms are the same. Click on thefollowing link for our motor test. If the belt and deck check out and the motor is OK, then check yourwiring and electronics for signs of scorching and replace the appropriate part(s).
Thank you in advance, sincerely. God Bless you.

I have a Proform 380 Treadmill. When the treadmill is on the belt rubs on the left side. How do I center the belt?

If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, use the allen wrench to turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1/2 of a turn; if the walking belt has shifted to the right, turn the bolt counterclockwise 1/2 of a turn. Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered.
