SOURCE: Buzzing in speakers on Carlsbro Marlin 8400 Power Amp

Hi,

If your volume is down and there's a hum, then it could be that your capacitors in the power supply are blown. Also there could be a problem with the bridge rectifier, possible that there's 1 or more diode's defect. Any technician can reapir that.

Hope it helps,
Gerard

SOURCE: put new pa speakers in church 2 1000 watt tied

hi,
You have to check the ohms of the speakers all spekers should be 8 Ohms or above. if not it will overload the amplifier at high level. The minium ohms impedence of the amplifier is 4 ohms. If you connect two 8 ohms speakers together then the effective ohms will be 4 OHMS then the amp will handle the speakers. If you connect two 4 ohms spekers together then the effective ohms will be 2 Ohms, this will overload the amplifier. You will be able to connect two 8 ohms speaker to left channel or right channel of the amplifier. Check the speaker spesifiction to know its ohms. Make sure all the speakers have an impedence of 8 OHMS or above
OK

SOURCE: gemsound pa 1005 exa keeps shutting off

I Think that something like a transistor is getting hot and then shutting down. Exploring inside might solve the problem of what's getting really hot. You could even get some Servisol Freeze Spray, and wait for it to go off then spray it on the suspected part. That will cool it down and it should start up again. If it does come on, that part will have to be replaced.

look on the back of the radio. See those two holes that you can plug a speaker into, well one is for CB the other if for PA. plug your Pa speaker into the appropriate connector and you have Pa capeablity. You must turn the switch to pa on front of radio.

I have a 29 cobra crome edition, the provlem when i key up the mike, the meter will not move, i tried 3 different mikes but could not get it to work on either of them

  • Now I need to know do you have any receive? No receive is a good sign either the final or driver is bad. Plug an external speaker into the PA port on the back of the CB and hit the switch to PA. If you hear yourself out of the external speaker then your IC chip is good. If not the it is bad. Do them little tests there and I can further help you. I just can't proceed without them answers.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.

There are some different things you could be facing like:
the speaker sound being cut-out by the mic switch, but my first guess is the switch in the external spkr. jack being faulty. Here is a schematic for you.

We have a Cobra 148 nw st Sound Tracker When

It could be..
Final blown : worst case
bad mic : try another one
CB/PA switch on PA instead of CB
CB/WX swithc on WX instead of CB :you cannot transmit on weather.
Broken wire on mic jack.

Try the mic and switches first, and if that doesn't help you may need to take to tech. You can find one at a cb shop usually at truck stops.

Constant buzzing in my 15 W amplifier

Make sure you have a ground prong on your power cord. Most input jacks nowadays are closed circuit. They have a switch built in that won't allow any sound without the cord plugged in. You may have a damaged jack that will give you a loud hiss, a loud hum or crackling depending on what volume your controls are set at.

Want to disconnect the bleep altogether on my cobra 148 gtldx

If this is a stock cobra 148 gtl 40 channel am plus side band, they don't to my knowledge come with a built in r beep. Some roger beeps are instaleed through the transmit circuit on the mic, so if not in the know Don't try to fix it.Some microphones have a beep built in. I used to install beeps on these radios using the pa/cb switch to turn them on. also try the nb switch or the swr/rf switch.
