Changed image drum, now no toner left?

We have one of these in our workplace and just had to change the Yellow Image Drum. I took out the old one with the toner (which I checked to be at 22%), put the new image drum in and then transferred the toner cartridge into the new drum, closed the lid and started it up. Now it is saying that there is no Yellow Toner left. I'm not really sure what has happened, there wasn't a lot of toner powder spilt, surely not enough to amount to 22%. Any way I can fix this or will I have to order in a new cartridge? I've tried taking it out and putting it in again about 3 times.

My C-M magicolor 5570 says toner missing C both with the old and new toner. What to do?

Are you sure you it is toner?. May be the image units. There is a toner for each color, Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and black. There is also a drum (Image Unit) for each color. Do not use third party toners and I/U they cause issues sometime with the machine software.

How do i stop my savin 2020 from printing a yellow streak on my color copies?

Sounds to me like either a faulty yellow toner cartridge (try replacing it) if the drum is integral with the toner this should clear it. Otherwise you may need to replace the yellow image drum.

Biz Hub C250 is dumping too much yellow toner, what are some possible reasons/solutions?

Bad cleaning blade in the drum (Image Unit). Because toner goes in the image in the front not the middle or rear.

Minolta ep4000 showing code C000 Drive problem how to resolve it..

Remove the fuser (The hot unit) fist and check for broken gears or jammed gears. Next check the gears in the rear where you removed the fuser. also remove the drum cartridge and check that the drum rotates ok do not touch the drum must use the sides only. Turn only in the clock wise or you might flip the cleaning blade. Which is what removes the old toner before the next image is placed on the drum. If it is yellow looking replace it. Located on the left side of the drum. Open close the front door reset the code.

I have a Brother 2170W printer. Worked well for years but suddenly had some blank columns down the center. Took it to a repair shop and they said it needed a new drum and printer. I purchased and installed...

Hi Len,

Thankyou for explaining you problem to me, it makes life a little easier when you have no hands but are equiped with the facts.

I too would normally think Drum/Toner or Carona but it seems you have covered those, the carona is in the drum but if you switch the drum and the marks dont change then that cant be the issue. Here is a LINK to the carona cleaning instructions and below I'll past a pic of the carona position.

If a good Brother branded toner doesn't fix it, and you have fitted a new sealed brother original drum and that doesn't fix it, there are only two possible things left, one is the fuser at the rear that melts the toner to the paper but I doubt that one because it usally leaves lumpy marks on paper surface, but you could get a touch and look at the two width of the machine rollers at the rear and see if the coating has come off the teflon roller.

What I think is your issue is there is toner dust on the laser lens, it is a **** 1-2cm wide running width of machine, it resides inside the machine about midway directly above carona slot, get a soft cloth and wipe the lens.

Let me know if the lens clean does the trick, otherwise it must be 2 lots of faulty toner but the image would change or two dirty carona's/worn drums but once again image would at least change.

Make sure you reset the drum counter, heres a (link) to how

Cheers Steve

Yellow deposit

Remove the Yellow Drum unit, Check the drum for any toner. The drums should be clean and I believe a Green color. If you see any toner on the yellow unit replace the unit. Some models have a charge cleaner built into the image units, if that is the case with yours you will see a light blue knob on the front of the unit. Pull this knob in and out about 5 times to clean the units charger this may correct the problem without replacing the yellow image unit.

When I replaced the drum I know get a 540 sensor toner error

Get another toner to fit to your new drum, what happens is the toner sits on the drum, and when you lock it on the drum it dumos as much powder from the toner container on top into the drum as it can. If the top unit runs entirly out of toner it will throw the sensor error, if you look at the drum you took out you will see it has the toner in it, so if you even just a put a new one in before you fitted the drum, you will need to fit another..

You can check if this is the issue by looking at the level of powder in drum unit, it should be up to the brim of foam edged slot not below it...then feel your toner if the top cart is empty then thats your issue ..fit another toner

There are other things but this is the most likly and I have given you a test to verify if this is your issue or not.. hope this helps oh and its a good idea not to change toner near drum life ends...or if you dont mind a little mess, before changing drum, invert your old one with toner still on top, while you are holding upside down , keep a firm pressure between both units and unlock the toner, turn upright and you now should have an near emppty old drum and the toner locked back in the toner cartridge ready to transfer its load to the new drum, rather than the expensive stuff heading for the bin......must be money in selling the stuff they want you to waste it....what a planet..cheers.

Toner sensor error on an Oki C3520 Laser

Check the little switch/door on the right hand side of the drums.
This has worked successfully for me.

Symptom:
After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.

Cause:
The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.

Resolution:
Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

How to change the drum on 2300 DL

Turn off printer.
Open side door, remove waste toner box.
Lift blue bar (in direction of arrow) to release drum assembly.
Grip tab as shown in small image, press and pull drum assembly out of its slot.
Take NEW drum and slide back into its slot, pressing it into place over the metal guide pin.
Pull yellow tab to remove protective film from drum (discard this).
Lower blue bar to engage drum.
Replace waste toner box, close side door, turn printer back on and let it cycle to start.

That should be all there is to it.
