Question about HP Pavilion Computers & Internet
I am trying to connect my HP Pavilion 10 TS 10-E004 AU Notebook to a NEC NP-M260X data projector using a HDMI to VGA converter cord and the screen keeps on flashing, it shows up for a second then flashed off again, then a green or blue screen and this goes on until I pull the cord out. I have tryed adjusting the aspect ratio/screen size on both pieces of equipment and lowing the refresh rate on the laptop, could you please help with what other options I should try? As the picture does show up I don't think it is the cords, but? Thanks
Have you ensured you have the drivers for the projector? As you are using a cable, it may be as easy as going into your Device Manager and checking for any warning icons...typically under the Monitors, and Display Adapters. Connect the cables, and open your Device Manager, then click to scan for new Hardware. if any of the drivers regarding display result in the warning select to update the drivers. Allow it to do so automatically, as I am not certain is HP has the driver on their website: HP Drivers Downloads It may not list your exact device, but many drivers work for multiple models.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Try this first, Press the F8 key a couple of times when starting up. This should get you into "safe mode" and you'll need to go into the Help and Support section and do a system restore back to a restore point. If that doesn't work, then you might need to do this: 1. Press F11 on the keyboard immediately while the computer is starting up. The HP Backup and Recovery Manager window will appear.
2. If the Recovery Manager can access the hard drive it displays a prompt to backup up your user files before continuing the recovery. If it cannot access the hard drive to fix the system errors, the Recovery Manager starts recovering the hard drive to its original condition.
Of course doing the F11 process will wipe out all your files and reset the drive back to the factory settings.

I've had the same problem.
Remove the battery & power cord.
hold down the power button for 10 sec to release any residual power.
plug in the power cord but leave out the battery
it should boot right up

I had the same problem after running an update to my Norton anti-virus software. When booting the laptop, press F2 to go to the setup menu. One of the options allows you to change the order that is searched when booting up. I moved the boot from hard drive to the last option, allowing it to boot from a network first (which it doesn't find), then from a portable device second (which it doesn't find), and finally from the hard drive. When I boot up, after it doesn't find the first two options, it boots from the hard drive with no problem.

if it worked fine at some point then it should work fine now... i use hdmi to hdmi from my laptop to tv all the time dvi would only cause quality loss.
the first thing i would try would be to change your resolution on your laptop to a couple different settings. a lot of times, if its not set to one thats compatible with your tv, you won't see anything.
if that doesn't work, go to personalization and open the tab that says "connect an external display" and toy around with it. but yeah it doesn't sound like you have any hardware problems there.
hope this helps

Hi sounds like your dc connector in laptop is loose or bad connection.Try moving the power cord going into the laptop gently and watch the lights to see if they flicker off .If they do you need to take the laptop in for repair.
