SOURCE: hp 1200 business inkjet help

I have a solution that is very similar to that printed above.
I have tested it on five installations on the computers on my home network and an HP Business Inkjet 1100, and the PCs running Win XP SP3.
Step 1) If you are setting up the printer from the HP CD, decline the question where it asks if you want to print a test page, (this will avaoid the first print job before re-setting the dates).
Step 2) Reset your clock back to a year prior to the year when your cartidge expired.
Step 3) Print a test page, or two. Or a few pages from any application.
Step 4) Reset your clock back to the current year.
The printer now prints fine. Since I performed the sequence above I have been printing with the "expired" cartridges for a few weeks. I have printed on about 15 occasions over the past few weeks, amounting to about 50 pages. No problems so far. I don't know how long this solution lasts or whether I will have to go through it again.
I have gone through a few different "solutions", including a Registry hack that didn't work, but this simple solution above has worked every time on five different installations.
I did not need to turn the printer on/off, and did not need to re-boot the computers.
However, if I sent a print job to the printer before performing the sequence described above, and the printer gave an "expired cartridges" error, then I would need to turn the printer on/off to clear the error, and flush the print queue.

Epson black ink only won;t work unless I have full color cartridge as well. What a piece of garbage! Never buy Epson again unil they solve this problem. I'm out of blue but I can't use a bl

The way around Epson ripping you off is to use compatible cartridges. They are much cheaper than Epson and will work in most printers. You can buy them in bulk from places like Amazon. As for the print quality I have not noticed the difference. Some printers might say that you are not using Epson ones, but you can dismiss them and carry on.

Put brand new lexmark 28 cartridge just 4 days ago. Maybe used 10 times. Computer says ink is low and won't print anymore. However, can still make copies.

It could be just a slight communication failure between your cartridges and the printer. Try to re-seat the cartridges by removing and re-inserting them into the cartridge carrier.
I hope this helps.

I have changed the colour ink on my canon mp460 but it still say empty

CL41, this is the one you are using for your cartridge.

Did you change your cartridge with brand new one or refilled one??

If you did with refilled one, the ink level won't go back with full.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the method how printer measures the ink level.

1. Each cartridge has a serial number.
2. As soon as installation in printer, printer recognizes the cartridge by serial #.
3. And the printer starts to count the printing document.
4. After reaching certain print counting, the ink level will show "low ink"

So my answer is even if you refilled your cartridge, the ink level won't change,
since printer cannot weight the cartridge or.....some other technology to measure each color ink level.

Thanks.

EpsonstylusCX4800 printing blank pages. I have followed brochure instructions: cleaned the print head 5 times, shut off overnight, unplugged and replugged both ends of the cable connection. Nothing...

From what I can gather, the cleaning pad (in which the excess ink from cleaning ends up) is full... or at least the counter thinks it is full. Epson uses hardcoded counters on certain things; for example, as you probably noticed from this experience, the ink cartridges show a decrease in ink every time you clean them, but with this problem, they are actually still full. There is a handheld device, that costs about $15, that will allow you to reset the counters on the ink cartridges. As for fixing this printing problem, the software available online, that is supposed to be able to reset the counter that decides if the ink cleaning pad is full, doesn't work. In 2006, I also bought a CX4800. Right as the warranty ran out, I came upon this issue that as soon as I put new cartridges in, it completely stopped printing. Epson sent me a new printer so fast it was amazing. Basically all I told tech support was I put new cartridges in and it won't print. Boom, new printer. Which means this is a known issue with this model. Now, 4 years later, same issue just happened again. Spent over an hour on the phone (nicely) **** out tech support and her manager because I just spent $60 on cartridges only to have them not work. I tried every angle, I'm an IT Systems Engineer, I know how to play the tech support game, and the best I could get out them was 10% off a new printer and an extra set of cartridges for whatever Epson printer I decided to buy. I even tried to just get my $60 back for defective cartridges, no luck. Needless to say, but I will never buy another Epson. Basically, what it comes down to is that some where internally is a counter that needs a device to reset the counter. So you are screwed, just like me, and now are left with just a bulky scanner. BTW, I found an HP all-in-one printer that is of better quality and only costs $55 at Newegg.com. That is cheaper than the cartridges for this outdated printer. So don't bother to spend a dime to get your CX4800 fixed.

Hp photosmart 8050 won`t print black even though it says it full

Hi there! If you haven`t used the printer in 2-3 months the black ink cartridge has gona dry.Wich means the printer is seeing full ink but the ink isn`t actually coming out from the ink head.Take a peace of clean cloth or cotton and clear the bottom part of the ink head(be verry carfully while cleaning it cuz you may dmg the head.If that doesn`t help just go and buy a new ink cartridge and it will solve your problem.

Bland and color cartridges have been refilled but

Ink level counter (program) didn't read actually ink at ink tank. Brand new cartridge ink level counter 100% (full), and ink 100% (about 10 ml). After may printing, ink will dry out, and ink level counter reach zero (ink out). Printer will not allow print anymore, even have refilled, because ink level read "ink out". For canon type, you just to release ink level counter, and counter just stop, but printer will allow to print. Press stop/reset button for about 30 second.

I have run the startup disk and my computer says the ink is full but when I go to print nothing comes out on the page even though it sounds like its printing

GENERAL PRINTER TROUBLESHOOTING ADVISE:
Open the printer and remove the ink. Clean around the ink carriage and the under the ink with alcohol and a cotton swab. Pay special attention to areas with copper contacts. If the printer has a cleaning option either on the printer itself through the menuing system or on the machine through the print driver, you can use that afterwards. Some printers will let you re-run the cleaning utility several times. Keep in mind too that some printers will not print, even with full ink, if the exact type of ink it expects you to have is not installed. Double check that the ink is correct against the manual or written instructions inside the printer. Not every cartridge that fits the printer necessarily works.
