Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

Amana ARTC8600 flat top electric range has f0 code. Some of the touch functions work and some do not. Tried unplugging for 5 minutes, didn't work, tried taking apart and cleaning (isopropyl alcohol) inside of glass control panel and the ribbon cable from the film circuit-there was some moisture accumulated there that I though might cause shorting or the problem, dried it with air. Reassembled and problem is same/worse. Had the back off and there is a larger circuit board and then a smaller board with the ribbon cable to the glass front control. Which is the problem and is there a work-around?

SOURCE: Does F0 code mean changing touch pad is fix & how to do that?

Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

SOURCE: GE Profile electric range: I'm getting an F0

Hi greengib,

The Failure code "F0" description is a stuck touchpad. Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

HI,
Disconnect power to stove
Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
Unplug the pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
Turn power back on to stove.
Watch for the F1 and the beep
If you see f1 and hear the beep its the ERC
If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.

I'm getting a periodic beeping signal and an "FO" error message from my lower oven. What is it telling me? The oven is a dual electric. Model number 326B1230P001. Thanks. Stanley Hochman

Hi!! Failure Code Fault Code Description Solution F0 Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.
Although the manual recommends to replace the touch pad, try unplugging the unit form the wall for a couple of minutes to reset it. It works most of the time.

Dacor oven code FO means keypad is in depressed mode.....and then what?

Hi john56584,

The "F0" error code description is a stock function key. Here are basic test that will help you to determine if the ERC or touchpad is defective.

1. Unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker.

2. Gain access inside the control panel.

3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.

4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.

5. Turn the power back on.

6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the code comes back.

7. If F0 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

The F1 code appears in the digital temperature of the oven

This is for a Whirlpool F1 code, but that code means the same on virtually all brands. Try this:
You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad. Here is the procedure for determining your problem.
  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire apx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for codes and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get a code and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after apx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.

Ge range js968 f0 error code

F0 error code is a failed thermistor control. The suggested fix is to replace the ERC(electric range control). You will need to inspect the ERC, touch panel, ect for any loose connections that could be causing a short. You can also try unplugging the range for 15 minutes or so and see if the error code clears. If not the ERC may need replacement.

I have an F0 code that came up on my display. what does that mean?

The F0 code means loss of safety signal, you must replace the adapter board.

You could try to unplug the unit for a few minutes and then plug it in as a short term fix, but if the code reappears, then replace the adapter board
