Question about Poulan Pro 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Blower BVM200FE

1 Answer

When ever I start it, I go to press the trigger and it acts as a kill switch

Thought it was a timing issue or something... but it starts good and runs good, but then I press the trigger, and it kills the engine

SOURCE: When I start my trimmer

With choke on it forces gas by suction through carb. That is a good sign of vavle body in carb stopped up with 2 cycle gas/oil mixture left in gas tank and not run completly out of trimmer and gas tank. You will need to remove carburator-disassemble it carefully not to tear any gaskets or diaphrams. Also inspect all rubber membrains for very tiny tears or wholes in them. If found rebuild kit will be needed. If not local auto parts stores carry carburator cleaner in 1 gallon container you will need to soak in overnight then use compressed air to blow through tiny orfices in valve body of carburator. If your remove low & high speed air mixture screws turn screws down( in clockwise ) just untill seated (count full revolution of turns on each one before removing them) Make sure to remove all rubber gasket,o-rings ect. before putting carb. in to soak overnight they will swell up and be no good in the morning if not. a good rule of thumb is to take digital camera and take pictures of every step before removal and use to help with rebuild of carb. (make notes) drain or run gas out of everything before setting it up not in use for won't have these problems again also (seafoam carb cleaner poured into gas will help prolong old gas if used when gas is new and works great on cleaning out all fuel related problems with any and all combustable engines it can be found at advance auto parts,o'reilly auto parts) hope this helps you out.

We have a second hand 2005 volvo S40. I have had alternator and battery changed in the past month an i'm having a issue with the wire that runs from the alternator to starter, it seem to be getting really...

Seems to me like a voltage meter would be a good place to start, to see just how much current is running through that wire. Check it in several key positions--off, on, starting, running. That should tell you a lot. It could be that power is being supplied at a time when it is not required. In which case, your ignition switch might be involved in the issue. Or a poor contact is making the wire act like an element instead of a conductor.

Hi, thanks for reading this. BMW R 1100 RT. The whirring sound heard when switching on ignition is no longer. I believe this noise is something to do with petrol/power to the injectors. It was at first...

sounds like the actual kill switch is faulty, many people use this to switch the bike off before turning key off DONT this is an emergency switch and is not built for constant is possible to test this but as you say you have limited knowledge. but here goes follow the wiring to see if there is a connector, there should only be two wires to the kill switch, at the connector disconnect it and the two wires coming from the bike up to the kill switch ,the incoming wires to the connector can be linked together, use another piece of wire pushed into the connectors, this should act as thought your kill switch is turned on. you should get the buzzing of the fuel pump back and be able to start the bike normally. changing the kill switch is not too hard but envolves dismantling the right hand control and as i donot know what you mechanical expertise are i will not lead you into this incase it is above your station so to speak. start with the basics of testing the kill switch.

Hard to start. once it starts will not idle, acts as if the throttle is pinned open and runs full bore. When running full throttle on its own the kill switch will not shut the saw off.

Remove the carburetor cover and observe the action of the carburetor throttle arm as you actuate the throttle. If the arm doesn't move, disassemble the throttle trigger assembly (making part placement notes as you do so) and clean out any accumulation of sawdust/dirt. Make sure the cable or rod which connects it to the throttle arm will move--there should be spring return of the throttle arm to idle position. If this fixes the throttle problem, but the kill switch still doesn't work, you may have to remove the left side case to access the ignition module and the kill switch wire which plugs into the end of the module. The switch itself may be full of sawdust as well preventing contact to engine ground. Hope this helps!

Car won't start mechanic reset inersha switch care ran for 2 days wouldn't start again then they replaced the fuel pump car ran for 2 days now won't start again

Did the inertia switch get triggered again? On the side panel, down behind the hood-release, there is an access hole in the panel. (1.5in diameter?) Inside you'll find the switch. It's a round button; that acts kind of like the ground default switch on an outlet. If you can push it in; it's been triggered again. If not; well it should be fine.
What triggered it the first time? If it was an accident; there may be further damage.
If that's good to go: I'd have to ask whether the fuel filter was changed at the same time. Sometimes they can clog with debris from burnt-out pump.
I had pump go out in my Mystique. It didn't trigger the inertia switch; but it did stop working two days later, as well. It turns out we messed up the plug connecting to the pump. That would be worth checking as well. You need to pull up the rear seat cushion. Where you'll find a rubber cap with a wiring harness protruding from it. Lift that up you'll find the plug underneath. Unplug it and perform a visual inspection. If it all looks good, well you'll need to begin more advanced diagnostics.
Then again, as cars go; it may not have been the pump to begin with, just a coincidence. Or something else has gone afoul. Dang cars!

Good luck,

I have a Ryobi RE175. It just stopped working

1. Shut the power off, and disconnect your Ryobi
router. It could be the start/stop switch. So, you
can begin checking the switch contacts using the
multi-tester. Set if at 1 x 10 Ohms. Put the probes
of the tester across the switch terminals. Pressing
the trigger on will move the tester indicator to zero
if your switch is okey. Otherwise, no moverment -
the trigger switch need replacement.
2. Should the trigger switch proved to be okey, Check
the carbon brush of the unit, short carbon brush??
you have to replace it.

90 dodge shadow starts but wont run

Based on what you have supplied, It's probably not enough to go on, but if it is turning over and then dying straight away. It could be a compression issue. Perhaps you have a broken timing belt or timing chain.

If it isn't that and you think it's a power problem, then it could be something like a failing starter motor or Alternator.

A failing starter motor would cause the car to start sometimes but not always.(because the brushes inside will be wearing down).

And a failing alternator would be preventing your battery from recharging properly while the car is running.

I'm sorry, without more details on the problem I can't offer more advice that this.
All the best to you.

Van has to sit overnight after long idle, in order to start.

See if the vents on your gas cap is clogged up. The gas cap could cause the fuel tank not to vent properly, causing fuel issues

Starting issues starts fine one time next time won't start

I would start by changing the fuel filter out on the top of the pass engine compartment.  If that doesn't change a thing next I would look at the EGR valve operation.  Sometimes it will stick and cause a no start.  Lastly check to see if you have any possible fuel leaks from injector pump and lines off pump.  The system could be bleeding down.
