SOURCE: nikon az1 auto level

There are 2 allen screws on the fish eye bubble that can be adjusted to correct that problem.

First level the instrument;

Then turn 180 degrees

Adjust the vial until the bubble is half way from where it is back towards the inner circle.

Relevel the level using the foot screws

Then turn 180 degrees again (back to where you started)

It should be mostly fixed, however if it is not just repeat the steps above; it gets exponentially better everytime until you can no longer detect the error.

SOURCE: PINs for high level input

Hello gmb_66,

You did not specify exactly which Jensen amp you have. None of the Jensen PowerPlus series I found had high-level inputs. You can go here and select your amp to download the manual. They should also have the connector for speaker inputs.

Most amps that have both high-level and RCA inputs allow you to use one or the other, but not both at the same time. If your head unit has RCA ourputs, those would be the ones to use, because they generally provide a cleaner signal to the amp with less noise.

Hope this helps.

You need to calibrate your touch screen...Follow these easy steps to do so.

1 Turn your DS on.
2 When you come to the main menu that lists pictochat, ds download play, and the game that is inserted in your DS, Tap the little ICON of the ds towards the bottom of the screen.

3 There should be a new menu that comes up with different colored squares. The yellow square has an odd icon with a box thing. Press this.

SOURCE: I have a topcon RL50

aken from Pauldos Personal Laser Blog,
http://www.pauldos.com/lasers/article.php?article=1193142611
The Topcon RL-50B and RL-60B leveling lasers use a fairly unique compensator arrangement. Most leveling lasers use a suspended compensator arrangement, with a lens or mirror on the pendulum. The pendulum is usually metallic, and inside another metallic barrel, so that an electrical connection between the pendulum and outer barrel indicates to the electronics that the compensator is 'out of range'. The RL-50B/60B has a fluid compensator system where the laser beam is reflected off an interface between the fluid and a window, with the level of the fluid influencing the reflection angle of the laser beam. Because there is no electrical aspect to the compensator, an optical system is used to detect when the compensator is 'out of range'. In the output structure of the laser, a glass window at forty-five degrees is used to reflect a small portion of the beam to a photo detector. When the laser is level, the small portion of laser beam strikes the photo detector.

A common fault with these lasers is to constantly indicate 'out of level'. This occurs when there is insufficient beam intensity on the photo detector. The standard solution for this fault is to clean the 45 degree window. Sometimes, this does not bring the laser back to life. I have stripped down a couple of these lasers to try and figure out what is going on.
At first, I thought that maybe the laser diode could be down on power, reducing the available beam, but I quickly discounted that, because the laser diode output is feedback controlled, so the output power is stable up until the point of complete failure. One of the units I disassembled had cracks in the compensator housing, and the fluid level was low. I don't know whether the fluid leaked or evaporated, but in either case, there was no way the compensator could be repaired. In another unit, I noticed that the fluid was discoloured. Since I don't know what the composition of the fluid is, I don't know what could cause it to discolor. Perhaps extremes of heat or cold may damage the fluid. If the fluid is discolored, that may reduce the available laser power at the output. The question is, can we compensate for this? (pun not intended)

I decided to reverse-engineer the photo diode circuit, and see if there was any way to improve it. There is. The photo detector amplifier is a standard op-amp inverting amplifier. The feedback resistor, surface mount R23, is 470K. I changed this resistor to 680K to increase the gain of the amplifier, and bingo! the laser works like a real one again. Extensive testing in the workshop and in the field shows that the laser functions as originally designed in all ways. I have done this modification to over fifty of these lasers now, and the modification extends the life of the laser anywhere from a few months to a few years, with the average about one and a half to two years. Customers are always happy to not have to buy a new laser for another year or so, so this modification is always embraced when offered. I have never figured out what is going on with the fluid, but since I have a solution (again, pun not intended), I don't care.

cleaning instructions :
Remove the housing. Remove the battery holder. Loosen two small silver grub screws on the turret. Lift turret off. Clean slant window with acetone and a cotton bud. Avoid smearing the glue in the corners over the window. Flatten and curve a cotton bud to clean the inside of the slant window. Clean the folding mirror under the slant window. Replace the turret. Turret has a small amount of play, so align it for best operation before tightening grub screws. Re-fit battery holder and housing. All done!

Center bubbles will not level to center when it was turn to 180 degrees

Fix the instrument to a solid tripod. Level the vial. Turn the instrument 180 degrees. If it is out of level. Adjust half of the bubble's error with the foot screws, and the other half with the 3 adjustment screws around the vial itself. Continue to go back and forth 180 degrees until the two sides match.
It will take some time to get the hang of. But is not hard to accomplish.

I have a lufkin 20x level that is so far out of calibration I can't seem to get it adjusted properl;ey. What is the start from scratch procedure?

I assume you are talking about a bubble level. If so, you should be able to remove the cover over the bubble and find adjusting screws used to calibrate the level. Make sure the bottom surface is free of nicks and rust and is not twisted or bowed. To test for bow, after you have removed any nicks or rust, set the level on a smooth flat surface. Try to " spin " the level gently from one end. If it rotates about the center of the level it is bowed with the center high. If the center is high enough to rock the level you will never get it adjusted until you correct that condition. If it rotates about the end of the level it is bowed with the center low. If your surface is reasonably flat you can rub the level and look for shiney spots on the bottom. If it worn badly have the bottom resurfaced. If it is reasonably flat on the bottom, find a smooth, flat surface that you think is reasonable level. Set the level on the surface and mark its position. Take note of the bubble position, even if it all the way to one side. Reverse the level position 180 degrees and note the position of the bubble again. Make an adjustment to move the bubble half of the difference between the two readings and repeat the notations of the bubble and reverse position bubble. Continue until you obtain the same bubble reading in each position. If you don't get a final reading that is on the scale of the level, find a surface that is more level and try again. As long as the surface is level within the range of the level scale you should be able to adjust it until you get the same reading in each position. (If the surface is not level within the range of the level scale you can't complete the calabration.) The final reading should then be the amount the surface is out of level.

How to adjust a David White transit level

I just assisted a friend "re-calibrate" his D.W. L6-20 Level Transit. Follow the following steps.
1. Set up the tripod & transit in the garage. Get the platform with the protractor, close to level.
2. Position the telescope at "0". The telescope should be over 2 of the adjusting screws.
3. Adjust the screws to get the top bubble close to level. Adjust with a screwdriver the spring loaded screw to get the bubble closer to center.
4. Rotate the scope 180 degrees. Note the difference in the bubble position. Split the difference from the first bubble location by adjusting the same top screw.
5. Rotate back to 0. Adjust the same top screw to split the difference in bubble position.
6. Rotate back to 180 degrees. The bubble should be off by the same amount. Adjust the 2 bottom screw to place the level in the center.
7. Rotate back to 0. The bubble should not move.
8. Rotate to 90 degrees and adjust the 2 bottom screws to place the bubble in the center.
9. Rotate to 270 degrees. The bubble should be centered.
10. From this point on, all you need to do is place the level on the tripod and position it over your reference point with a plumb bob. Adjust the bottom 2 screws at 0 and again at 90. The level is set to use.

Water Level and Water continues to drip after cycle has ended.

The water dripping into the tub is caused by the fill valve solenoid not closing completely. The fix is to replace the fill valve. The overfilling of the washer is caused by the pressure switch. Over time the diaphram within the pressure switch becomes fatiqued & fails. The fix for this is to replace it as well... Hope this helps... Bill
