Re: Get paper path error when path is clear & clean.
There are two types of sensors, optical and mechanical. Sometimes the mechanical sensor get stuck and give a message to the scanner that paper still remains inside the scanner. Check if any of them is stuck, Blow air from a dsiatance so that any shreds of paper is foreced out.

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your Epson printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.
Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam,
and then press OK to continue' error message
Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
This is a common problem in 9080C. When the top cover is closed, the sensor sends light and it is reflected thro the black cover in the bottom. Then the scanner assumes the cover is closed. Any obstruction is treated as P00 error. You will notice three small oval & round shaped clear plastic. Clean them with a brush and ensure the edges are clean. Light goes thru one side and come thro the other, which is sensed by the unit placed in the top cover.
If the problem isALWAYS,can be causedby an error inthe configuration of thewhitepaper size. That is,the printer has aconflictof comparing theoriginaldocument sizeandthe size of thewhite paper. Open the printer's door and look for the print carriage. It's the platform that moves back and forth over the paper, probably where you put new cartridges. Unplug the printer, and check this belt and its pulleys to see if it's either broken or possibly covered in ink. The drive belt will be black and have gear teeth on it. If you see a metal or plastic ribbon, that's more likely the encoder that let's the printer's computer read the position of the carriage. See if you can nudge the carriage and make it move a little; it may simply be jammed. Check the carriage's moving path and make sure it's not obstructed. Any other problems would probably best be handled by Epson.
The 3 paper sensors are located along the center of the paper path. They are:
Registration (lever type) on the bottom between separation & registration. Look for lever damage or torn paper.
Scan Start (reflective) on the top between registration & front reading roller. Clean the sensor window with qtip & alcohol.
Delivery (lever) at the eject roller. Same as reg, but harder to see due to location. The feed roller exchange kit is 6915A001. The rollers in this machine are not considered user replaceable.
When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:
If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.
Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly. IMPORTANT! Do
not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light,
especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure
to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print
Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.
Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.
Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.
Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is
clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer
covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam
lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display
the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code
will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more
information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.
