0.0162% of $12,500 is $2.025 (two dollars two and a half cents).

Or did you mean 0.0162 of $12,500? That would be $202.50.

How to do percentage for sale tax

It depends on your jurisdiction and your calculator.

For example, I am in Ontario where the Harmonized Sales Tax is 13%.

To calculate the HST, you multiply the amount by 13/100 or 0.13. On some calculators, you can hit 13 then the percent key and it divides the number by 100.

To calculate the total including tax, add a 1 in front of the decimal. With 13% HST, you would use 1.13. So for a purchase of $100, you would get $113.

Good luck.

How to find percentage of 20% of $60?

I don't know if it has changed, but we used to say "of" means
"times" and percent means "per cent" or "per one hundred" (100 pennies in a dollar)so to convert a percent to a fraction, we just divide it by 100.

Thus we have 20% x $60 or 20/100 x 60 or $12.
Good luck,

What is payroll tax?

Payroll tax is the money that goes to the state and or federal government directly from your salary. There are two basic kinds of payroll tax. The first is the kind that your employer pays on your behalf and the second is the money that you pay out of your salary. These amounts are always based on your salary and they are related to each other. For example if you make 10 dollars per hour and your coworker makes 20 dollars per hour, the amount of payroll tax they and your employer pays for your coworkers is twice that of yours.

Dont know how to compute on percentage such as discounts, interest, etc.

It's easy if you covert percent to decimal.

100 % = 1.0
75 % = 0.75
22.5 % = 0.225
5 % = 0.05

Then if you had 20% off a cd which was $16.75.

(1 - 0.2) * 16.75 = 13.40

However, if it was 15% tax on top of a cd of $16.75

(1 + .20) * 16.75 = 20.10
