Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Dishwasher overflows I have a Maytag PDB3600AWX dishwasher. The pump works well, pumps all water out of the tub when reaching the appropriate cycle state. However, it keeps taking in water when it's not running / turned on (e.g., overnight) and the tub starts overflowing, cuasing obvious leakages (to the basement). What part needs to be replaced? Thanks, C Artz

That's what I thought, what you confirmed for me: replacing the water intake valve solved the whole problem.

Cost ~ $50 (Canadian) plus just about two hours of my work (total).

Sounds like you've got a problem with the water intake valve(s). If it takes on water without water running in the sink, that is where I would look. If it happens when you use the sink, then I would also check your drain hose placement

Asko D3122 dishwasher will not fill with water and will not turn off

you may have water under the dishwaher ... have any plumbing work done lately?

if the dishwaher overflows or leaks it will trip a float switch under the dishwasher... as long as it is triped it will run the drain pump.. and not let any water into the tub...

the water will have to be removed and the leak stopped before it will run a cycle....

Hope this helps if not let me know more about your problem..

My bosch shu5315 cycles fine but when finished water is not draining completely. checked screen-cleaned-and problem still exists. Is it the heater? If so how hard to replace?.Note: remaining water fills...

check your airgap by the faucet of your sink. usually a metal cylinder is the cap. then you might have tabs to press in, or the top of the airgap can unscrew. usually i find stuff in there. mostly fishbones.. otherwise make sure the holes towards the bottem left of your dishwasher tub under your filters arnt clogged up. sometimes calcium gets in there a clogs those holes to the drain pump.

if no airgap then check that hole to the disposer. reach your finger in there towards where the dishwasher drain line is coming in and make sure that isnt clogged up.

LG LDF6810 Dishwasher Starts filling with water then pumps water

Because you are not getting an error message, I agree that the controller card is malfunctioning. Almost everthing else would triger an error.
Recommend replacing the controller card.

Dishwasher appear to be clogged

It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher. Check if motor spins. In case it spins, the problem is with the pump ,in case it doesn't spin it could be a motor problem or a motor and pump problem. Good luck
