Question about Dishwashers

Open Question

I have checked my troubleshooting guide for my KUDIO1IL KtchnAid dshwshr and all it says is the dishwasher has malfunctioned. Call for service to check heater circuit. Does that mean there is a problem in a circuit board or some wiring or heater element? Circuit boards are beyond my paygrade, but I will tackle other electrical issues. All I get when I reconnect power is I hear a motor running and what sounds like some water draining. The clean light is the only light flashing (8 times then a pause and repeat). When the motor and draining stop, the light keeps flashing the same sequence indefinitely. What else can I do to get a good diagnosis and resolution?

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher model number GU3600XTSY2 is

The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.
The dishwasher will go through a cancel cycle (drain the tub) and will then let you start it up again

SOURCE: My dishwasher ( 66517269400) won't turn on.

The F7 error code(light flashes 7 times) is a one of these, Flow meter failure. Flow meter defect. Water inlet valve defect or water inlet hose blocked.
So what you need to check is if the correct water level is in the tub,to check that start d/w let it fill and once you longer hear water entering,open door and the water should be level or just above the heat element, if not enough water first check water pressure to inlet valve,if pressure is good replace the water inlet valve part # 8531671 it could be picked up from your local appliance parts store,or online at;

Error code - electronics malfunction

You are in deep doo doo. When those electronic boards go, only repair is to get new board. Parts are proprietary and expensive. I prefer simple mechanical controls that are reliable and inexpensive to repair when and if. Check ebay for part - you just might get lucky if someone is parting out similar unit.

Water not draining after wash. Checked the troubleshooting guide and none apply to problem. It seems like the pump isn't running.

Have you purchased a new food waste disposer for the kitchen sink area? If so, make certain if you are draining the dishwasher directly into the food waste disposer, that you have removed the plug from the food disposer. Or you may be correct that the water pump is inoperable due to an obstruction or basic malfunction. Contact an appliance service company.

The clean light won't stop flashing...

Some Whirlpools to reset the sequence, push Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry with the door open and then close the door and hit cancel. Push the buttons as fast as you can - within 4 seconds. Also you can try Normal then Heated Dry then Normal then Heated Dry within 5 seconds to reset. Try those and see if it resets.

You can also try turning off the breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes and turn back on as long as the breaker isn't supplying your refrigerator too as in some countries where several appliances can be tied to one breaker, but in the USA, the dishwasher usually has a single breaker for itself.

You can find a troubleshooting guide found inside the door panel in which the screws are taken off and the door slips off and the troubleshooting guide (or tech guide) will be found there and probably is found there with your model. For others with different Whirlpools models it is found by removing the kick plate panel at the bottom of the dishwasher and it is usually glued there. It will list troubleshooting solutions you can try for your dishwasher and diagnostic codes for your dishwasher.
The flashing light is probably an indication that something caused the cycle to not complete, whether the water isn't hot enough or a faulty motor or several things, but the troubleshooting tech guide will help address that.

Kenmore Dishwasher Model 665.1622Clean light is flashing, Use and care guide says when this happens the dishwasher has malfunctioned. Call for service. There must be a simple fix?

This happens if the water temp sensor is not seeing a temp rise in a specific time. Make sure you run hot water to sink before using. This problem is often caused by a bad heater. This can be checked from the control board in console. You need to access schematic to determine what wires to check at board. This tech sheet is supposed to be behind lower access panel. If you run diagnostics as specified in tech sheet this will reset light.
UNPLUG UNIT BEFORE REMOVING PANELS!!
If does again have heater circuit checked..
