Question about Emerson LC320EM8 32 in. LCD TV
I have three NEC 42" Plasma's: PX-42VM5A. Two were working a year ago when uninstalled and put in storage. Now all three behave identically and do not work:
When power button is depressed, there is an audible click (relay) the power light turns green, a few components hum then another identical click and power light goes red. A couple of times I was able ot get a glimmer of a picture on the screen, but no longer anything.
After reading earlier suggestions it seems the power supply board is likely faulty. New ones are $300, which seems to much to spend on a four year old Plasma. Anybody have an idea about what component on the power supply would be worn out?
Any insight would be great. Thank you,

Yes, if your laptop has a VGA out port (that is the external display port - usually blue with 15 pins).
The NEC display has a VGA input on the right-hand side.
You just need a VGA cable that you plug in both connectors.
Then, read your laptop manual to determine how to activate the external display (usually the FN key with an other key that has a display icon on it).
On the NEC display, make sure it is using the RGB1 input (use the remote to activate this input).
That should do it.
NOTE: Make sure your laptop is using a reasonable screen resolution (that is 640x480 or 800x600).

From your description, I can't understand the problem of your TV well. "Half white half black screen with video signals"; you describes what? Please give me more details about the fault, as clear as you can, so that I can help you. Send these details to me by Fixya. OK.
