SOURCE: epson t88iii will not print
I would like to say sorry to you I got my serial port mixed up with the parallel port. I have resolved the problem, it was a DIP switch change which needed to be set. If anybody can not get their computer to communicate with the printer then I would suggest they download the Epson Technical reference guide and read it thoroughly, but only use the guides for your method of connection which is dependent on your model of printer. I found that for a baud rate of 38400 DIP switch SW 1 numbers 7 & 8 should be switched to ON .I hope this helps some else.

The printer driver is available at pos.epson.com. You have to take a minute to set up a free account to log in, but after you do, the driver is readily available. Just click on Tech Resources on the left side, and select the correct printer.

Ignore the message to install the Epson TM-2.01 and proceed to install the correct driver for your Epson T88III.
Just set up or add the correct printer driver and make you choose USB port connection not parallel port. Then try to print the test paper and if prints, then you are properly configure your printer.
If not, you have to configure the correct driver and the correct PORT connection to your printer.
