I have a JVC GR-DF450U camcorder. The playback works fine but the is no display when recording.

If you mean no picture during camera mode(that is all black screen), Something must be done to your camera. Iris motor unit fails to open causes the problem of no picture since iris is close. Solution, clean iris curtain, needs skill. I suggest have it checked by qualified person. Hope it helps, Good luck

My camcorder is not showing the image on the screen or in the view finder audio is recording

sounds like the Iris control motor is not opening the Iris.....it might be stuck closed or no power to the Iris control motor. when you switch to camera mode, look into the lens assembly, you can actually see if the Iris is opening...if you don't see any movement, then your problem is the Iris, if you do see the iris opening, then your problem might be more severe such as the camera module itself....what ever the case, your camera needs to be opened up for service.
good luck

Hello have a low light setting on my AG-DVX100BP that wont allow the video to show?

Hit the iris button on the side of the camera, then use the dial to dial the iris into an open position and let more light in. Know that the higher the number, the less light coming in, so 16 is just below closed iris, 2.8 is just before completely open iris. The iris is like the pupil of your eye. You should always be in manual iris to control the iris with the iris dial, keeping the video between 4.0 and 6 usually gives you the best exposure (not too hot or too low light.)

You also may have a neutral density filter on. You should only apply this switch if there is too much sunlight. Use nd 1/8th for moderate sunlight, nd 1/64th for bright sunlight. Then adjust the iris with the dial again to get the best picture exposure.

Canon 50mm fd len;

Before opeing the lens. You cannot check the iris without setting the lens on the body. Engage the lens on to a body and check the iris opening by releasing the camera at "B" speed. While holding the shutter release, move the f/stop ring if the iris work. If not, you cost of repair by technician would run anywher from $35 to $60 so go ahead and be brave. open 4 screws from the back and start digging in. Good Luck. Lcd panel stays black

a penlight shined into zoomed back lens - shows if iris is open ( ccd looks like a small xmas tree scene , deep in center ) : if iris is stuck closed , a thorough lens cleaning should restore camera video - if iris is open , the ccd may be or already has failed ;

Overexposure on outdoors shots

i think it is a case of defective apparture system. the system controlling the change of apparture opening has been locked. the reason may be friction in the blade movement or defective flex pcb carring the signal to the apparture motor.
