SOURCE: water/liquid collects at bottom of refrigerator

For water collecting inside of a refrigerator, there is usually something leaking inside, or perhaps the door seal is letting moist air into it.

SOURCE: bottom drawer of the refrigerator freezes the fruit.

I think the thermostat is faulty. Thus it makes the freezer extra cold. Try replacing it. Regards, Nandini.

The working procedure of the Kenmore side by side refrigerator is as follows:--- First the compressor starts, the compressor is the main part which does the cooling. In the compressor there is refrigerant due to that it does the cooling.------- So compressor starts and it only cools the freezer section. In freezer section there is a evaporator coil.On that coil there is a defrost thermostat and defrost heater. This both defrost thermostat and defrost heater are controlled by defrost board.--- When the freezer compartment gets freezed to its set temperature. At that time the thermostat triggers the defrost board that freezer is cold till its set temperature. So now the defrost board gives command to defrost heater to turn ON.This is the main defrost cycle. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running. And defrost heater starts running.Defrost heater melts the frosted ice collected on the coils and cool air from freezer section transfers to fridge section via the fan.The fan blows this cool air in the freezer section to fridge section. And this is how the fridge section gets cool. From where the cool air transfers from freezer to fridge section, this section is called damper. This damper open and closes by the motor. In defrost cycle damper motor open the damper cover and cool air runs to fridge section and in cooling mode the damper cover remains closed.---------But in your case, everything else is working fine. But damper cover is not closing.Due to this cool air is non-stop running from freezer to fridge section. That is why every thing in two lower drawer is freezing. There is where the damper cover is.---------- Either the damper cover is stuck open.Which you can force bit manually and close.Or the other possibility is, that damper motor is got faulty. And that is why the damper cover is remained open in one position. If the motor is faulty, then complete damper assembly including motor is available, that has to be replaced.---------------Most probably in your case the damper door is not getting properly closed or its stuck open or the damper motor is shorted out.Try to manually close open the door.If it starts working, your problem will get solved. But if its not functioning then damper assembly has to be replaced. ---------------- Many a times the damper door gets over-freezed and due to that this door gets stuck open.In that case i suggest try manual defrost procedure. In manual defrost procedure all ice will be melted from your complete refrigerator. So if this is freezing issue with damper door, then it will come to its normal procedure. The manual defrost procedure is as follows:----- First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the problem is still there, then replace damper assembly. -------------- To see how damper assembly looks. Please click the link below:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/06/kenmore-side-by-side-refrigerator.html ------------ You can get required parts from from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Model 106.50793002 Makes ice but

Freezing vegetables and water dispenser not dispensing water.------- There are two problems.------- ----------- For water not dispensing problem:---------- There possibility is ice blockage in the water fill tube. There is a tube from which the water runs and enters the water dispenser. If this tube is blocked then water will not flow, when you depress the water dispenser paddle. The tube needs to be defrosted, by using hair dryer. This procedure melts the ice collected in the tube and water starts running again. But if water fill tube is completely clear and no ice blockage or any other blockage. Then other possibility is water valve .This water valve is for letting the water. The main water valve the back of the fridge section. This main valve lets the water enter the refrigerator. This water valve is a twin valve. This valve has two tubes in it.One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position, so ice maker side is working, but water dispenser side is not working.-------- The valve is not a costly part and can be easily replaced.----------------- Now for the freezing vegetable problem in the bottom drawer. For this problem, its indicating towards problem with damper assembly.---------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located. ----------- The damper is operated by a motor. Its a complete damper assembly with motor included in it.--The damper has door.Which closes and open with the help of motor. In your case the damper door is remained open, its not closing.Due to this the cool air from freezer section is running in to fridge section non-stop.Due to this the vegetables and other food in the bottom drawer freezing.--------- In this problem the damper assembly needs to be replaced.--------------- ---------------------- Now read this point very carefully.------------ It can be also possible that due to damper door not closing the water line which is running towards the water dispenser is also getting over cooled and this is freezing the water in that line. And due to this you are not getting water from water dispenser.----------------- ------- So first thing you try is , perform, manual defrost reset procedure.---------

The manual defrost reset procedure is as follows : ----
First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then check, if you are getting water from water dispenser, if you press the water dispenser paddle. If you get water, that means the water line was clogged and this defrost procedure helped you.But if still you don't get water from water dispenser, that means, the water valve at the back of refrigerator needs to be replaced.----------- Now after manual defrost reset procedure is complete. You will attach the power cord , after 4 to 5 hours check, if the vegetables are still freezing in the bottom drawer or there is no such problem.-------------- If there is no such problem, that means the damper door and motor got stuck up due to over frost and manual defrost procedure helped. But if the problem is same and the vegetables are again freezing, then get the damper assembly replaced.-----------------

You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.
----------- This should help. Thanks.Helpmech.

Vegetables freezing in crisper drawer

This is an issue with the convection system in the refrigerator, while the cold air trapped withing the crisper drawer remains and the temperature of the moisture in the area drops below the freezing point, the water content acts as a cover and thereafter enables the vegetables to freeze. A slight rearrangement of the utensils within the refrigerator solved the problem

If you cannot adjust the temperatures or close the air dampers on left side of the crisper contact me withe the model number. 38 degrees is perfect safe temperature for lower section. There are several styles of the Profile. That is why I asked for model number is to see exactly which style you have. For example PSS26MRSS would be what to look for. Sea Breeze
