SOURCE: does not stitch lower thread

Make sure when you thread the machine you have the thread seated into the tension assembly on top, then make sure you have the threading ports locked and the switch in the proper place for each looper threading, the machine will only partially thread if you do not have the port locked and it will even still sew although not properly.

SOURCE: I have a baby lock

Stretch fabric is made for using the differential feed on your machine, sergers love stretchy things. Try widening the stitch you are using and turn your differential feed down one notch to allow the machine to get a good grip on the fabric, you may need to bump the differential feed up more if it still doesn't stitch nice, keep trying on a piece of scrap fabric of the same as you are using until you are happy with the stitch.Another solution is to put some lightweight tissue paper under the seams and then tear it off after you have sewn the seams, this works but will dull your blades over time.

SOURCE: left needle on baby lock serger "imagine" skips

Change needles if they have done a few hours. Ales use ballpoint if seaming stretch fabrics. Also you can get EL 705 needles, which have a longer scarf (groove at back) which helps with the loopers catching the needle thread. Or SUK is the stretch type with this longer scarf Also if you are using cheaper thread cones, try a better quality with smoother finish and consistent weight, this will help too. However if this doesn't resolve issue, your looper timing might need adjustment.

  • Set lower blade to widest width setting
  • Place differential feed on N
  • Remove Needles
  • Place back circular hole in plate onto the anchor screw(this should never be loosened)
  • Plate will set down flush
  • Reinstall the front holding screw.
  • Reset width control
  • Check lower blade height, per instruction replacement manual.

Could you send a picture of what the blade and hook look like when they are put back correctly I think this would help. I think I may have put it back together incorrectly

The Baby Lock Imagine overlocker/serger is so easy to use and set up, you'll love it! The blade should be flush with the sewing bed when installed correctly. I'm not sure which part is being referred by "the hook", can you elaborate ... is it the loopers?? Here is the address for the manual http://pdfretriever.com/ref_sien.php?ID=2411572&lg=E&src=8

Cutter blade remains locked.

when you release the blade, sometimes you have to reengage it manually, turn it to unlock, machine off (safety only) push up on bottom of upper blade until it stops. turn hand wheel and watch if blade is moving. If not repeat. When it moves your good to go.

I have a babylock imagine overlocker and what looks like the lower looper is puckering. I have some pictures available to best understand what I am refering to if this would help.

I have the same problem with my Imagine and am trying to find someone with some real knowledge. I think the problem is that the forks holding the thread are not opening up as wide as the stitch width and this causes puckering. if you serge just off the material your stitch will probably be perfect but your blades will not touch the fabric. My sewing repair shop thinks I used my machine too much and that I should send it to babylock which would cost 500 to 600 . How silly is that. I am trying to find out how to adjust the forks or someone who can do it for me. If you find something please post answer.

How do i replace a bulb in the imagine babylock

Unplug the machine.

Open the front cover and cutting blade cover.

Remove the light bulb and replace with same (15w/120v) screw-in type or if the machine uses the bayonet type (no screw threads) 10w/240v.

There is a bulb remover that you can purchase/order from a BabyLock dealer.

If you cannot get the bulb out, call a dealer and ask if someone there can help you and when could you come in and not have to leave the serger.
