Question about Samsung HL-S4266W 42" HDTV
Today our flat screen picture went out, yet the sound is clear and our channels will change. It came out of nowhere, but my husband got a flashlight and he noticed that there was a crack inside the screen. Now neither one of us know how long it has been there so that is why I am asking this question to you now. Is it possible to change channels and everything yet have NO PICTURE at all?
Would you be able to provide the model number of your TV to provide you with more info?
If your TV is a DLP, the lamp would need to be replace to get the picture working again.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You will need to get the screen from here:http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP67%2D00261A&search%5Fmodel=HLS5086W You should also get the service manual for this TV set, as that will show you how to disassemble the TV set. Good Luck

The outer screen is called a Lenticular screen, it may come as a set with the Fresnel (the inner, and the way I would actually go) the screen is very hard to replace usually on a DLP as they have a somewhat sealed upper side and alot of screws.

I assume you mean, "flat" just the outer screen? There are three screens there. The outer one, called the screen filter is p/n#
AA67-00207A... The next is called screen tint, p/n#
AA67-00193A and the inner most screen is the fresnel screen, p/n# AA67-00193B...
Now the tough part of the question::: If anyone will have these it would be Samsung parts, http://www.samsungparts.com/search/search.asp but I don't know at what price or availability.. Just don't dock my rating for not knowing..

SOURCE: Cracked Lenticular screen
How old is that TV?
Order from here:
Wow! I think that's a rear projection TV, so it may be time for a new one!, as the part is about $175 + shipping, + installation + your time, + they break pretty easily.
