I'm having so weird noises coming from 99 Ford Explorer V8 AWD. I've taken it to 3 different places to have it checked out and everyone is telling me different stuff. The noises its making is a bead like shuffling like nose and when I turn left or right come in or out of a parking spot it pops. I've changed the hub assembly. Anyone have this problem and fixed it?
When you changed the hub assembly did it come with a new wheel bearing? jack the vehicle up and move the tire up and down and then side to side and check and hear for play on parts if there is play in something then that is your problem to me it sounds like your inner tie rods does it pop on both ends ?

CV joints yes look at the rubber boots for damage. You can get a replacement boot but if you do remove all the old grease to remove any dirt that is cousing your problem.

You can check fluid level by removing the rubber plug in the cover. Fluid is full when on level ground, it is just at the edge of the hole (or very close) if you are already getting noises out of there, you can remove the cover and inspect gears for wear or breakage. If you find a large amount of metal debris in the lube it tells you something bad is going on back there. Although rebuildable, it's not a home job...requires exact settings in order to operate properly. You can find good units far cheaper than even a gearset costs in any scrapyard. to match ratio, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. the replacement MUST have the exact same number. Before swapping diffs, check all back there to make sure noise is not from somewhere else.

sounds like another bad hub brg, jack up front end and check for play in wheels from top to bottom wiggle for movement. A loose wheel brg will set a front speed sensor code.

Could be either a loose belt or you are low on power steering fluid,or the power steering pump could just be worn out.
SOURCE: I have replaced the front passenger side wheel hub
it is most likely a bad wheel bearing, but it maybe the other side, some times the noise will carry threw the front end and make you think is the other side, we have a rule in my shop we never replace one wheel bearing we alwise replace both bearing on the end we are working on if the customer does not want that then we send them to another shop, the reason we do this is for just the thing you have going on it just saves allot of problems, and we never use cheep hubs, never use auto-zone or advanced or O'rileys, we had to warranty 12 hubs from auto zone in one year, i have never had to warranty a napa hub in 25 years, it just does not pay to save a few dollars. and all though it most likely is a wheel bearing there is a small chance it might be a carrier bearing in the front differential it would also go away when going around a corner but if you remove the wheel bearing and turn them by hand you can feal if the bearing has a bad spot. if the bearings feal good then pull the front differential.....GOOD LUCK
