Question about Arris SB5102 SURFboard Cable Modem
I need to download a Win7 Motorola SB5102 cable modem without it installing onto this XP Laptop (I need it in a flashdrive) to transfer over to my Win7 machine. I have to use this XP laptop. Can I do this? I have just installed a vista raspppoe.sys driver to replace the problem raspppoe. It worked to solve error 615. (Yay!) But, I am still not connected to the net on that machine. Now the Broadband connection cannot find the modem. (Error 797) So, now I have to find the driver on this XP laptop and transfer it over to the Win7.
Yes, you can do it.
Downloading the driver will result in a file you can copy over to the flashdrive.
Just do not double-click on the file, because that will start the installation process.
In the unlikely case that the file auto-starts the installation process, you will normally have the option to Cancel the installation.

If you go to the link below and look under the software section you should be able to download the setup CD that will configure the connection between your modem and the router.
