1,Check the fans ,whether each fan is running, when you turn on the projector
2,if the fans run, then ,check the lamp or lamp ballast

turn on the projector ,at the same time ,if you can hear a continuous beep beep sound (the ballast igniting the lamp)
means the lamp may be fault, and other parts is working well

I just replace a lamp on Sony vpl-cs20 and lamp timer is still high

You should turn on the VP-CS20 with the button on projector, NOT THE REMOTE or the instructions wont work.

Using the remote commander while the unit is powered up, press "ENTER", "ENTER", "LEFT"

and "ENTER" in sequence. A prompt will appear on the screen asking if you wish to enter the factory mode.

Press the "UP" key on the remote and the unit is now in service mode. This sequence will add two new groups

to the customer setup menu. Press the "MENU" button to view.

Whenever the lamp is replaced, the lamp timer should be reset. With the unit in the "factory" mode, press

"RESET", "LEFT", "RIGHT" and "ENTER" on the remote commander. Verify the lamp hours have been reset to zero in the service menu.

Hope it helps,

Method 1:1: Plug in the projector and turn it on.2: Press Select [info] 3: Press Lamp Timer Reset4: Reset the lamp indication.
Method 2:1: Place the projector in Standby mode.2: Hold the SOURCE and ASPECT button for at least 5 seconds, make it 10 to be sure.3: This will reset the system including the lamp hour timer and take you back to 0.

No display from projector

try resetting the lamp timer. if that doesn't work: listen for a high pitched whir when you power it on. if you don't hear it, the colorwheel needs replacing. if you do hear it and it doesn't light, the ballast is bad and needs replacing.
