Question about Bosch Classixx KGV24323 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Open Question

How do i regulate temperature? Where are the control?

I have no manual as i inherited this unit.I can only find a red rocker switch and a temp control going from 1-5 in the fridge compartment and no controls in the freezer compartment.

The compressor behind the fridge should cycle on and off as the machine maintains temperature, but the evaporator fan inside the freezer will keep running, except when the fridge goes into defrost. If the noise is coming from the fan inside the freezer, there could be some ice on the frame of the fan and the blades are touching the ice. If the noise is coming from behind the fridge it could be the condensor fan motor. This fan is situated behind the fridge in front of or next to the compressor. It keeps the condensor cool by blowing air onto it. Check this fan. The blades could be touching the pipework or something.

SOURCE: Freezer quits working

Solution Found! The problem is when the temperature surrounding the refrigerator in the garage falls to < 45 degrees, the thermostat regulating the refrigerator will not call for the compressor to kick in to provide cooling (it's temperature requirements are being met). Since there is no demand, the compressor will not cycle, which is how the freezer is kept cold, and the freezer eventually warms up to match the refrigerator temperature. Frigidaire makes a "Cold Kit" that I ordered and installed from RepairClinic.com for $22 (Item #: 1037646; Description: Garage kit). It's basically a strip heater that runs off the control power to warm the thermostat and causes the compressor to cycle once to twice a day to keep the freezer frozen. After installation, the refrigerator stays at 40-45 and the freezer stays around 0 degrees.

The fridge should be just above freezing, maybe 2 or 3 degrees celsius. The freezer should be around -15 degrees celsius. The outside temp doesn't matter as far as the settings go.

Silvia has two bimetalic switches that control the boiler temperature. One for brew water and one for steam. They are not exact and they can go bad. They are cheap and easy to replace. Just Google for Rancilio parts.

A much better fix (and more expensive) is to switch to PID control. Google for Rancilio PID control. The conversion is $250+ but once you've gone PID, you'll never go back. The temperature is exact, fast, and totally under your control.

Try the following:

Depress and hold the heated dry button until the light goes out. This may take more than the suggested 4 seconds (Sears suggestion).

This is an update to the dishwasher problem. Kenmore (actually Whirlpool) has a safety switch at the control panel. If water temperature is not regulated properly it locks the controls. In this situation, it really is a matter of unregulated water temperature control. For the dishwasher this is supposed to be internally set at 140 degrees F. It is likely that the thermostat (or the heating element may also be faulty) is faulty. It may be helpful to purchase a manual for the unit to see if they show you where the thermostat is located. To test the thermostat, unhook it from the (dishwasher) unit, place it metal down on a grill and turn on grill close to temp settings, and make continual checks of the Ohm continuity. Once the thermostat has reached default settings it should open (that is from nearly 0 Ohms to an infinity setting). If no changes occur in the Ohm-meter reading when close to temperature factory settings the thermostat is bad. Depending upon how new the unit is this is probably something that can be found without having to move the unit. If you think you can discover the thermostat without the manual, it is likely close to where the heating element is connected and will be supported by a small bracket (single screw).

How do you turn on a comfort zone cz7007? has a knob that turns up to 7 and 2 red switches right next to each other.


On the comfort zone CZ7007, the #1 rocker switch is for 600 watts, the #2 rocker switch is for 900 watts. If you flip 1 and 2 both to on you will get 1500 watts. Which is 600 and 900 added together. There is no down position, but only on and off.

How do I regulate the temperature?


hey Hazel. I am too looking for the instruction manual for the same type valve.
In another situation.. I installed a valve with a temp control and a water on and off knob like yours.
I messed with this darned temp valve for days .. taking the temp cartraige out of the valve body ( you might have to shut off the main water source to do this.)Other wise there coudld be shut off screws on the left and right of the valve body after you take off the cover plate as well as the handles... in the wall.
In my case, I ended up removing the exisiting temp. cartrage and replacing it with a new one that had to be orederd. The manual mentions that there is a possibility of some debris that can get inside the valve body while you are installing it. Their solution is to remove the temp. control cartraige and check and or clean it out of any foriegn matter.
Since I too am without an instruction manual , I am working on adjusting the temp of an exisiting unit that is too hot. However in my case it is hot to very hot !!!!!
I guess I can just turn down the temp on the water heater.

First, feel the heater hoses going into the firewall under the hood. If they are hot, then you have hot engine coolant going into the heater core. If they are not hot, then you either have a bad thermostat or you are very low on engine coolant.

Next you need air flowing through the heater core so it can come out heated through your vents. If the iar is flowing somewhere else, your temp blend door is not moving because the bend door motor is bad or your temp knob on your heater controls is bad. The blend door motor is an electric motor.

Air Flow Control
Air flow control is accomplished in the following manner:
  • Primary control is through the function selector knob , mounted on the heater function selector switch, which is part of the heater control .
  • The function selector knob has the following positions: OFF, PANEL, PANEL/FLOOR, FLOOR, FLOOR/DEFROST and DEFROST.
  • The heater function selector switch combines a vacuum selector valve with an internal electrical switch.
  • The vacuum selector valve directs source vacuum to various vacuum control motors (18A318) . Refer to the System Airflow Schematic and Vacuum Control Charts.
  • An internal single-pole electrical switch is also controlled by the selector. The switch controls the electrical supply to the heater blower motor switch (18578) .
  • The position of the function selector knob determines the manner in which the system will operate.
  • Each position of the function selector knob is detented for positive engagement.
Temperature Control
The temperature control operates in the following manner:
  • Temperature control of the heater system is determined by the position of the temperature control knob (between COOL-BLUE and WARM-RED) of the heater control .
  • This control knob is connected to a potentiometer mounted in the heater control . This potentiometer is electrically connected to the electric blend door actuator that operates the A/C air temperature control door.

  • Movement of the control knob from COOL (Blue) to WARM (Red) causes a corresponding movement on the air temperature control door and determines the temperature that the system will maintain.
System uses a reheat method to provide conditioned air to the passenger compartment.
  • All airflow from the blower motor (18527) passes through the A/C evaporator housing .
  • Temperature is then regulated by reheating a portion of the air and blending it with the remaining cool air to the desired temperature.
  • Temperature blending is varied by the air temperature control door, which regulates the amount of air that flows through and/or around the heater core (18476) , where it is then mixed and distributed.

The Amber light is the Power 'On' indicator. The Red light is a Temperature Alarm indicator. THe Red light comes on if the freezer compartment rises above 20 degrees F (for example a freezer malfunction or someone left the door open). You also probably have a rocker switch (or two holes that are over a rocker switch) that is in between these two indicators. If you do, that's an audible (loud buzzer) alarm when the red light comes on. The rocker switch is a simple on-off switch to silence the alarm or turn it back on.

most likely that is an on off switch for the temperature alarm. the 1 or l is the on psosition and the O is the off postition..
