SOURCE: engine was flooding out\now fuel primer has to be used to run

recheck float level as well as needle and seat for sticking and or damage, just crack line to bleed air , and eventually it self bleeds anyway... also unless you replaced with new floats check float weight with a float scale to see if floats are saturated or have fuel inside making the heavy and inaccurate ...

SOURCE: in the control box of an evinrude 115 vro v4

The warning horn on a V.R.O. system ( variable ratio oilier) warns you of three problems. (1) LOW OIL. means the remote oil tank in the boat is near empty or empty(2) NO OIL. means there is no oil getting to the V.R.O. .problem is, clogged line or the diaphragm in the V.R.O is blown.(3) OVERHEAT. means the engine is overheating. The V.R.O is you lift and pressure pump for fuel and oil. plus it mixes the oil and gas to proper ratio. Three warning, three senders. LOW OIL sender is in the remote oil tank in your boat. NO OIL sender is in the V.R.O.. and the OVERHEAT sender is on one or both cylinder heads of a the engine depending on the year model

Yes check the shift rod at the shift linkage. First Check the pin from the shift rod at the base of the power head.

Evinrude 120 vro outboard floods easily on startup , could spark plugs be wrong type


No,check vro fuel pump diaphragm.if primer bulb doesn't get hard when priming is a sign of needle and seat not sealing or a hole in fuel pump diaphragm.

I have a Evinrude Ficht 135 that Runs Ok but won't go in to gear, forward or reverse. Any ideas?


Disconnect the shift cable and see if the problem is with the shift box or the lower unit. If the lower, remove the bottom plug and look for water or metal where there should be clean oil.

If the shift box, take to the marina- they were a bear. Even just for cables.

200 evinrude will not shift into reverse when boat is in water . tried manually shifting, did not work. think shift rod is wrong after replacing impellor.
