Mitsu HDTV 55 inch model #WS55613 power failure problem

We had a power failure and the blinking light by the power button won't stop, and the tv won't turn on. Tried all the documented trouble shooting, e.g., pulled out plug, then waited to see if the blinking light would stop after a minute, it didn't. Tried the system reset button as well and the blinking light is still blinking.
Do you know what might be wrong?

Thank you,
Frank

Same problem here. Had a short power failure last night...this morning
woke up to blinking green light. I have tried unplugging and system
reset as well. Sounds like we may have the same problem. Terryfic
mentioned 4 bad capacitors as a common problem...is this an expensive
fix? TV is WS-55513 and made in April 2004, so it's still pretty new
and should have a lot of life left in it.

Power light continuously blinking. No power failure was noticed. Tried unplugging and re-setting. Still blinks, cannot turn on power. Please advise.

Light blinking on and off button. Hisense 55 inch,,, model no.50r6e3

A blinking red light on the power button of a Hisense 55 inch model 50R6E3 TV could indicate a problem with the TV's power supply. It could be caused by a malfunctioning component, such as a blown fuse or failed capacitor, or it could be an indication that the TV is overheating. In some cases, a blinking red light can also indicate that the TV's firmware is not up to date and needs to be updated

My Sanyo tv is not working. The power light comes on and then starts blinking red.

I myself had a 55 inch hdtv ready projection tv and the lamp went out in it. It cost me $104.00 plus shipping to replace it. Check out discount replacement parts but remember that if it is a projection tv, it won't last but approximately two years and you will have to do it again.

Mitsubishi rear projection tv.. 55 inch made in june 2003... will not turn on... no lights blink nothing no sound.. push button nothing happens.... looked in back not knowing what to look for or look at...

IF power light on front comes on for a second or two and goes off do the self check this set has:

On front of set when power light goes off, press and hold both the Input and Menu buttons at the same time for more than 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light should blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat the code four more times.

If this information helps and you want to know what error code found means rate this solution as very helpful and comment here and I will tell you what it means.
