There are 2 things that can cause that, memory failure, or mother board, cheeper route to go would be replace your memory first, and see if that corrects the problem, if not then, check anything new you installed inside such as video card, lan cards, of something like that, if that doesn't work you need to have it looked at and possibly the mother board replaced,

Usually the computer beeps if there is a lose contact or dust accumulation in the RAM's pins. But the beeps have some meaning. How many long and short beeps do you get? In what order?

sounds like youv'e covered all the possibles i would. could be the boot files got corrupted or the monitor is bad(have you checked it with another pc?) check the motherboard for swollen capacitors(those barrell looking objects randomly scattered over board. if the tops that have little crosses on them (+) are popping up/out unlike others, then your board needs replacement or new pc. cannot fix those. happened to a friend of mine. would not boot up to show windows.

I have a Dell XPS 600 desktop computer. I cannot get the power to stay on. None of the diagnostic lights light up. I have checked all of the connections and everything is secure.

Here's what to try: Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the CPU and memory. You may leave the video connected to see what, if any, error message you might get.
You didn't say if you got any beeps on startup. They can tell you what might be the problem.
If this doesn't work, remove the memory modules. The power should stay on but you'll probably get either a steady beep or a bunch of little beeps. (I don't have the Dell error codes close at hand at the moment).
If this doesn't work, you have narrowed the problem to one of three things: The CPU, the motherboard, or the power supply.
You didn't mention just what happens when you turn it on--just that it won't stay on. Error messages are helpful if you get any on the screen as are any beep tones.

Random Power Loss on Dell XPS 600

Possible reasons for random rebooting:
1. CPU Fan/Heatsink is loose Restarting due to Overheat Prevention. Im guessing the processor is LGA775. if u can open up the case and see if any of the four plugs and sockets has come loose, then that might be it.

2. Not Enougth power from PSU (Power Supply Unit). if it was built for gaming im explecting a PSU of at least 750Watts

3. Harware malfunction. When booting up, any error beeps?

4. Software error. Before logging in a user account, leave the computer on for a while if nothing happens then most likely be OS problem.

Your best bet is to reinstall Windows

XPS 600 serious Boot up Problems!

sounds to me like the fan is on the way out ,and if the cpu gets too hot the pc will shut down.
check that the fan is not obstructed, clean it if it is full of dust, replace it if it is not working as it should.

also listen to the power supply fan, is it working ok,this could cause the same type of problem but for different reasons.

good luck
