Question about Epson Expression Home XP-310 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner

How do I access trouble codes

The replace print message came on about three weeks after we set up the computer which is still under warranty. Felt that this was unusually short time for ink refill, but figured the cartridges that came with the printer were not very full, which was verified by customer service. When I removed the color cartridges, there was ink all over the place even mixing colors. I was told by customer service to replace the used cartridges with brand new oem cartridges, and call back. He said the only way to take advantage of the warranty was for a hardware failure. I'm a techie myself, but not so much with printers. I looked the problem up on the internet, and it looks like the only thing that fits is a code e01. I called back and told them this, and they want to verify it on the printer, so how do I find out if it is indeed the e01 code causing the problem?

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Can't seem to print in black only.

Are ya sure it isn't only preventing scanning direct to printer output? Is it also disallowing scanning to file? Epson printers canĀ“t operate if one of the cartridges is empty. There is no workaround for that. Epson printers actually use a LITTLE ink from ALL the color carts, even when you select "black only" in the driver. They do this to help keep the nozzles from clogging in the case of users who mostly print in black. Nobody [besides perhaps Epson] ever claimed Epson printers were the most efficient or environmentally-friendly ones in the world. for quite a while now Epson uses piezoelectric printheads, as opposed to the thermal heads used on most other printers. The enemy of piezo heads is air bubbles. They candamage the costly head, and that's why you cannot continue to use the printer if ANY individual cartridge runs out of ink. In fact, Epson designed its cartridges to signal "empty" when there's still around 15% (higher by some estimates) ink left! That's to make certain you can't run the cart completely dry and thereby introduce air into the head. If you don't believe that, carefully open up a spent cartridge over a sink, slice open the plastic film covering the various ink channels and rinse it out -- repeatedly push in the spring loaded outlet valve as well. There's so much ink left, it will take quite a while before the water begins to clear! It's incredibly wasteful and annoying, but it actually saves money in the long run, because it's even MORE wasteful to run tons of cleaning cycles just to purge the head once you've gotten air in the system. Aftermarket carts and ink can save lots of money, but they're a crap shoot. Fed up with OEM price gouging and scare tactics, I decided to try a clear-cartridge refill kit for my R200. The RX600 uses the same kit: http://www.inkjetcarts.us/servlet/Detail?no=8 Good Luck!

SOURCE: Epson C66 won't print without color cartidges

epson printers won't really print if one cartridge is not detected or detected as empty. the only option that i can suggest to you is that, buy a continous ink kit at any ink refilling station in your place. i highly recommend that dont leave a cartridge empty with ink cause it might clog your printhead. using a continous ink system's cartridge is auto reset, whenever the printer says that the cartridge is empty, it will automatically resets itself. ink refill kit comes with 100+ml of ink per color i think. and it is much cheaper using original epson ink.

SOURCE: Printer will not print black, but will not let me replace black cartridge

Had the same problem but this worked for me. To force a cartridge change, press and hold down the PAPER FEED button for at least 5 seconds as suggested here:

http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ViewArticle.aspx?lng=en-GB&kbid=313630&data=qBjAbS6NcI3fNMgp8+fHGGs5vImpFwyM

I then changed the black cartridge, even though I hadn't used much ink from the old cartridge and the computer was showing it as three quarters full.

SOURCE: Epson RX500 printing problems

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.

The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.

For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.

I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.

Happy trouble free printing

How do I access trouble codes for my printer such as code e01

With the E-01 error code, the printer tries to point out there is a fatal error. The manual says, switch off the product and then back on again. If the error continues, check for a paper jam. If there is no paper jam, contact Epson for support.
My guess is you already read that part.
But it does not say anything about ink or empty cartridges.
The indication of a paper jam, can be caused, by anything that got in the printer mechanism. Like a paperclip or just dust that fell in.
Carefully check if there is nothing in the printer that does not belong there. Then load the printer with correct paper, and only a few sheets will do for testing. If there is no paper in the printer, it could cause the same error. Then try again.
If you have a lot of ink in the printer, please try to clean up with some kitchen paper. (Use rubber gloves, because ink on your hands is difficult to remove). There is cleaning fluid for ink cartridges, but only refill stations do have some.

Canon printer

It shouldn't dry up in such short a time, not unless you've done a lot of printing and the cartridge has run out. The seller is taking the mickey.

If you've replaced with canon cartridges and it still fails, insist on replacement or repair under warranty.

If repaired, check that it works properly before accepting it.

My battery keeps dieing while running. just changed the alternater three weeks ago.

Hi.

Make sure that you also replaced the battery. Battery elements may be shorted inside. That will result in battery draining even if the alternator is working.

If you have already replaced the battery check power across battery terminals with engine on and revving above idle. You should read voltage in a range of 13.5/14.4 volts when engine is revving at about 2K rpm.

If the voltage is still wrong after replacing alternator and battery check the voltage regulator connected to the alternator. Here the part.

If battery, alternator and power regulator are OK, test wiring to find out if there is a short to ground that is draining the battery while you drive. This fault is quite unusual with your symptoms. Check battery, alternator and voltage regulator first.

Regards.

I have a new ( 2 weeks old) Hartke 5210C combo bass amp. I plugged it in and turned it on, and after about three seconds, I heard a louder click than usual. I plugged my bass in and hit about three notes,...

There is an internal problem with the amplifier circuit. Since the unit is only 2 weeks old, it is clearly under a warranty. Return the unit and request a replacement. Given the short time, the store should not give you a hard time with your request. DO NOT under any circumstances open up the unit as that will void the warranty.

If the store is reluctant to exchange the unit, speak with a manager. Should that fail, contact Hartke directly.

Hello.
Sometimes this is caused by the chip on the black cartridge. I know it sounds unusual but this chip is called the "master" and it identifies the series of cartridges and head to a table built into the printer. if a error is detected it can cause the message you are receiving.
If you have already removed the head, checked the contacts and replaced the cartridges, then try this link below. it may help re-set the printer. http://www.fixya.com/support/r9017204-resetting_ink_waste_absorber_error I hope this helps

Printer is not printing and black cartridge has ink Black not printing, changed two cartridges but still no print. Contacted HP who will offer no help unless I use their extortionate phone support system....

Are there any error messages that display on the control panel of the printer or on your computer? That might narrow down the problem and the solution.

With what you have said so far, it could be a couple of things. The printer series you have tends to not print at all unless all of the print cartridges have ink in them. If even one of them is empty or near empty, printing seems to stop, even if you aren't going to print using the color that is empty. My first recommendation is for you to check all of the cartridges to make sure they all have ink in them. Replace any that might be empty.

This sort of issue can also be caused if the electrical contacts between an ink cartridge and the print carriage are dirty. Assuming all the cartridges have ink in them, you should check the electrical contacts on *both* the cartridges and the print carriage. HP.com has a web page that shows you how:

Cleaning Electrical Contacts

Go to Step Two in this document for the proper instructions.

If my suggestions don't solve the problem, please post back any other information that might help narrow this issue down. As I previously said, if an error message appears on the printer or computer, please post the exact text of the message. That will help a lot. Thanks.

Troubleshooting my Kenmore 721.66227

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

Otherwise, when you hit Start to cook, do the inside light and turntable come on?

Any unusual noises?

Is it louder or quieter than usual?

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting Sears to get it fixed free.

Black ink cartridge failure

Your printer may not be sealing the print head when it is off or in sleep mode. That would explain the build up over time and the fact that it is fixed by cleaning the print head. If your printer is still under warranty, take it in to get it checked. If it's not under warranty, you may just have to live with the problem or try to fix it yourself.
