Is windows 8.1 compatible w/ hp pavilion m7

I previously upgraded my pavilion m7 to windows 8.1 and an error occurred where the device would no longer display any images on the display. I like the look of 8.1 better than 8 but want to be sure that there are no compatibility issues

I would go to Find your machine and download Hp's drivers for 8.1. If there are none, it is not compatible. My M7 works great with Linux and Win7 together and have never bothered with Win8.

SOURCE: Compatibility issue between a Bluetooth

If you feel comfortable doing it read on...

Down in the "Start" menu type in "services"...

You'll want to select the "Services" icon (has one big blue cog and a much smaller cog to its right) and right mouse click it.

Choose to "Runs as Administrator"... give it a few seconds to load.

Once the services menu pops up look for anything that says "Bluetooth.." anything...

Look to the right of that "Bluetooth" service and see if it has the word "Started" in the column labled "Status".

If it DOES NOT, right mouse click on that "Bluetooth" item... Go all the way to the bottom of that menu box and choose "Properties"

In the subsequent menu you want to use the "Startup" drop box and select "Automatic"...d96826d.pngNow, if you want, you can try hitting the "Start" button just bellow the drop box and see if that activates the service. If so Voi La! if not, you may have to restart the computer in order for it to take effect.

If this doesn't seem to cure the problem, you might want to visit your Bluetooth device manufacturer's web site and see if there is a current software solution for your device.

If after doing these couple of things, things still aren't working, give me a holler and let's see what we can do next.

Hope this helps...

I need to upgrade my HP dc7800 running XP. I did the Windows compatibility wizard. The results were: 36 of your apps & devices are compatible....10 items for you to'll need to reinstall...

the camera wont work ,
the video driver might have some issues that a new driver will solve maybe,
what it means really is that to do an upgrade to win 8 liekly will leave issues for device drivers that will need to be reinstalled.
you will need more memory
what you need to ask is what do you expect from this upgrade other than days of adjustments and failures and the money you spend.
i would get another hard drive an copy/clone what you have 1st.

Base system missing

Is this in Device Manager? Did you notice this after the Win 7 upgrade? If so , it's a common problen when upgrading, Is that the only issue? Your Card Reader work? Modem? Co-processor? I have a HP Pavilion DV9320us I loaded Win 7 64bit Ultimate on with similar issues, modem, co-processor, card reader, etc. Use the Win Vista drivers, modify the drivers for Win 7. HP drivers found here: AND change compatibility of drivers , This will give you the general idea:

HP Pavilion a6010n takes forever to boot to OEM Windows Vista disk

Yes it does - do not disrupt the operation in order to prevent future system operating errors. This is normal. If it fails, you will get a notification error and until then, please be patient. I'm assuming you are installing Windows Vista to upgrade from a previous operating system?

If upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, many drivers installed on your PC may already be compatible with Windows 7. You may need to obtain new drivers if the previous drivers are not compatible, or if you perform a custom installation and reformat your PC.

I have creatacard gold 4 that will not load with windows7 onto a new HP Pavilion computer. I tried the compatabiliy modes and still it will not load . the trouble shooting program says that it is...

Your HP computer may be new, but your programs must be compatible with your operating system. If your Creatacard is older, the compatibility most likely stops with Windows Vista. Windows 7 is like a "brand new day". Read the label on your CD. It will tell you which systems it will work on. I had Windows 98 and Windows Millenium. When I upgraded to Windows XP my "create" CD's no longer worked.
Try downloading Avery cards. Be blessed.
