If you know your make and model of your sound card, google it or go to manufacturer's website and look for your driver there. If your using a built in sound card, you have to know your motherboard make and model and try searching for its driver. Goodluck!

I need to reinstall my sound card but i cant find out what sound card i have. there is nothing listed in the device manager.

Hi there,
This could be due to the fact that the sound card driver might have been deleted by accident. Nevertheless, do a fresh install of the driver if you still have the CD with you.

Deleted cd-rw/dvd-rom driver

I talked directly with HP about your problem. Unless you can find the driver in system32 or your windows installation disc, you will likely have to reinstall windows. Prepare a backup of all important files on that desktop though, because data loss is possible.
