Where is the thermostat located on a SHV55M03GB

Exact location can be traced from the wiring to the heating element which is shown in spread diagram of a dishwasher. check this link:

Hi I have a Bosch dishwasher . The red tap symbol is showing . The little filter pump is spinning but not pumping . It continues to run when door is opened . Can you help please

sounds like you have a water leak. The machine is fitted with a leak detection device that runs the drain pump constantly as a safety mechanism. If you want to look your self you will need to pull the machine out and tilt it back and if possible remove the bottom panel, should be 4 screws, this gives you access to the components. If it doesn't come off then you will need to remove either 1 or both of the side panel, its just a number of screws holding them. Then see if you can see where the leak is coming from, you may need to order a new part. Hope this helps.

Need to remove decorative door panel

There are two main ways to remove it.
  • There should be screws on metal trim the side and or bottom of the dishwasher door. Take those out and it should come right off.
Or
  • There are screws on the back of the door screwed in to the front of the door. Remove the screws and it should come off.

Now this is say IF it was installed properly and not clued or screwed on by just anyone.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

Remove hose at washer connection and check screen filter not blocked with grit from pipes. Check screen at tap end also. If both clear, machine may need water valve replaced.

My dishwasher (Bosch 24 in. SHV55M03GB) seems to be retaining water at the bottom after a cycle and will not drain. Will I require a repairman or is it something we can sort? Thanks

Have you recently installed an in sink disposal? This is where your dishwasher drain line should connect to. Just make sure you knock out the "blanking plug" on the disposal, because it is blocked off in case you do not use a dishwasher.
Otherwise, there is a small drain at the bottom of the dishwasher that pumps the waste water out-there is a chance that this pump has gone bad or just become clogged. Unfortunately, there is probably no way around fixing this without having the dishwasher removed from it's position. If you pull the dishwasher out, it will be a lot easier to check out.

Hope this helps.

My bosch dishwasher handle is loose

Hi rsouthwick,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You want to know how to tighten a bosh d/w handle?

Easy! open the door and look around the perimiter. You'll see screws on the right and left, they hold the front panel on. Simply remove them. The front panel is off and you can tighten away!

Removing decor door

With the door open all of the way you should see a series or torx 20 (small star shaped round head) screws around the perimeter of the inner stainless steel door panel. The outer door is usually held on by the topmost 2 screws on the outer corners and 1 on either side of the door in the second position up from the bottom of the door. There may also be a catch under the panel which will require the door to be slid upwards a little.

Be careful when the panel releases as there is about 15 to 20 pounds of spring pressure and the door may want to snap shut.

There may also be a small plastic cap on either side of the door panel about 8 inches from the top. Under these caps is a screw which clamps the door panel down. It will have to be loosened or removed if there.

There is no danger in removing all of the torx screws from the inner panel if the door still will not release.

This is for the standard installation but bear in mind that not everyone follows the instructions when installing the panels...

Bosh dishwasher not starting

Since the power is fine, now to get to the issue. You will need to pull the front panel and see if there is power to the on/off switch. There should be the same as what is at the junction box of the incoming power. If there isn't the proper voltage there, then you have a broken wire. If the voltage is there, then check the voltage going over to the control with the on/off switch in the on position. If power there and not lighting up or starting. Then the control is bad.
