I put in new ink cartridge; it doesn't work and keeps telling me it's not properly installed (which it is) and the printer lid won't stay down and so keeps printing off the stupid alignment paper. It won't...

I did recently install a new ink cartilage and now it won't work. I have a small PC and put it on a larger font so I could read it. I am not able to copy downloads due to this change. I was printing after the cartilage was installed but after the font modification, I attempted to print a download by pressing enter, and now I don't see my lexmark icon on the top of my computer screen.I could not get the whole printing page on my Aspire One so I pressed enter.

My print is Canon MX320. I just changed a new ink, but the error 5200 occured. Do you know what happened? Thanks.

Error 5200 indicates that the print head temperature has exceeded the specified value. Turn off the printer and then turn on, if error still persist replace ink cartridge or print head.

How to get the printer to read new ink cartilage for Printer MFC-420CN

The machine uses an optical reader to tell if the cartridge is full or not, if it is not reading fully cartridge as such then I would try power cycling the machine (unplug it for 30 sec) and see if it reads them then. If not I would call Brother and try to get them to tell you how to do a reset, you can probably find this on the internet somewhere as well.

I filled my cartilages but they printer says they are empty

If you refilled the cartridges with a refilling kit then this error will continue. You see, cartridges have a chip installed on them and it is programed to calculate approximate ink remaining after a certain number of pages are printed.

For eg, a chip on a new cartridge is programed that a full page takes say .5 ml, then if you print 1 full page or two half pages, it will deduct .5ml from the ink volume. When it reaches zero, it does not know how much ink is in there; it never knew in the first place. Now if you refill it up, the chip just thinks that all the pages have been printed so the cartridge must be zero.

In short, this error will stay, if you are able to print ignore the warning and continue to print until the print quality degrades. If you are unable to print you might have to install a new cartridge. OR if you're luck, you may find a chip reseter on the internet or from the refill service.

"Remove and check black cartilage" message

You should take it back and exchange it or read on below.
Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.
Re-filling them will have no effect
If you are lucky you should be able to find either a chip resetter around on the internet or maybe even local
OR
Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference
I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well

Error 5200 is a printhead temperature error, sounds like you need a new printhead. The part number is printed on the side of the printhead. it's a QY6 number
