Question about Hitachi 60SBX72B 60" Rear Projection Television

2 Answers

My Hitachi Ultravision (60SBX72B) will not stay powered on. Here is a quote from the Operating Guide: HITACHI Projection Television incorporates advanced power surge protection technology designed to protect against component or circuit damage due to external or internal voltage power surges. IF YOUR TELEVISION SHOULD APPEAR TO HAVE A LOSS OF POWER, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE: 1. Press the power switch (ON/OFF switch) once. (When I do it does not come on.) 2. If there is still no power, wait 30 seconds and press the power switch again. (When I do it still does not come on.) 3. If there is still no power, unplug the power cord from the wall. Wait 30 seconds and plug the power cord back in. Press the power switch again. (I follow these instructions. When I press the power switch (on the remote control or the TV itself) the red power light illuminates for approximately one second and the power never comes on.) This protective technology should provide for years of lasting entertainment from your HITACHI Projection Television. So I guess the question is this: Can I remove the back cover and find a reset button of some sort or anything that I can service myself or do I need to pay somebody to come to my house and tell me if it can or cannot ever work again? Gotta do something before football season gets here.

Hitachi Ultravision 60UX54B ... sound but no video ... upon power up all diag leds "except" D966 (+27V) and D967 (-23V) are lit and stay lit (they do not turn off)

When either of those other voltage "Rails" are faulty, there is a fairly major fault, unfortunately, exact diagnosis of these symptoms, can have many, many causes, In my professional opinion, I recommend, getting a "Quote" before allowing any work to proceed. This way at least, you can figure out, to repair or replace.

Hitachi 55VG825 rear proj television blinking light and screen doesn't light up

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...
