Question about Dynex Televison & Video

1 Answer

Won't stay on component mode

When I choose "Component" from the menu after clicking on the Input button, it automatically switches to another mode. Component is the mode that my DISH box is hooked up to, so I can't watch TV now.

SOURCE: "No Signal" when DVD player is hooked up via component video

If you are using the same cables, same input and the cable box works ok. I would look into the settings of the DVD player. Such as is it a progressive playback and is progressive turned on. It is not turned on by default because not all TV's could handle progressive in.

SOURCE: turn off closed caption on input(component) on Sharp Aquos 42"

I have a Sharp Aquos 46" and go a Comcast HD receiver as well, and had the same problem turning off the Closed Captioning. I order to turn it off you need to go into the box user setting by (starting w/ the cable box and tv on) pressing the power button for the cable box then the menu button for the cable box. This will open up the user settings menu. Just toggle CLOSED CAPTION to DISABLED.

SOURCE: hooked up a wii using component cable and display

This is not an answer persay, but you should make sure you using the correct component input. You should have 1 RGB and 1 YPbPr. The Wii would use the RGB input. To test this plug the Wii into the component jacks you have the cable box plugged into.

SOURCE: LD4088 LCD will not play sound via HDMI cables.

This is how AUDIO works in HDMI setup, you can select the source to send the digital audio along with the digital video through HDMI, the receiving end HDMI sound setup must be set to receive the digital audio through HDMI. Otherwise the audio may be sent and received through analog audio ports (Red (Right channel) and White (Left channel) RCA jacks) in stead. Most of the new TV and DVD player use auto detection.
So please check the HDMI audio setup to see how the audio signals are set to be processed.

Please leave rating if it helps.

How do i change the input

The 27" TV uses the same instructions as the 20", and I found the manual for you at the link below. Answering your question directly, here is the section of the instructions about changing input:
-----
Changing the TV's Input Normally, your TV displays the signal coming through the antenna terminal. However, if you've connected another component to your TV(such as a VCR & DVD) using the Video/Audio input, you will want to be able to view the signal from the component. To do this, you will need to switch from the ' TV ' input to the 'AV1-AV3, CVI' Input, as follows. 1 With the TV on, press the MENU button twice, then " Set-Up " menu will appear. 2 Use the WCHV buttons to select " Input ". 3 Press the CVOLB buttons to change the input source from ' TV ' to 'AV1, AV2, AV3, CVI'. 4 Wait 20 seconds, or press DISPLAY button or MENU button to return to normal TV viewing. * CVI means the Component Video Input (Y/ PB/ PR) from the DVD player etc.* Users can also select these input modes with the TV/AV button or the INPUT button on theremote controller. * On the AV1 mode , if you connect the S-VHS jack to your TV, "AV1" is changed to "S-VIDEO".

I have a 55 lg tv and a message pops up that says " you have a new component installed . Do you want to use it now.?

Message really isnt a problem unless you cannot exit it. Anytime a new input is connected ie. (HDMI) (Component) etc. the tv automatically senses the added component and simply asks if you want to use it now. If you choose "yes" then it will switch to this input. If you choose "no" the input is still available through the menu but will not automatically change to it.

I can't figure out how to program cable box. The cable is hooked up to the TV, but I can't find out how to get channels. Is there a certain menu or imput?

Are you getting any picture at all? check your tv's input button on the remote if your cable box is hooked up with hdmi select hdmi, if it is component video cable select component video, and if it uses a coaxial cable it should be something along the lines of tv. Push the input button on the remote to switch between the different modes

How do you set up the Soya TV. Is it cable ready?

Hi,

Yes, your TV is cable ready. To set up, you will need to use the original remote and complete the following steps.

1. Connect your cable box to your TV using either antenna (RF) cable or component A/V
2. Press the "MENU" button on your remote
3. Select "CHANNELS" using the up/down arrow buttons on your remote and press "OK"
4. Select "SCAN CHANNEL" and press"OK".
5. Select "CABLE" as the source and press "OK" to tune

The TV should now automatically tune the cable stations and exit the menu. If you need to exit the menu and/or start again just press "MENU" on the remote again.

If you have no picture, press the "INPUT" button on your remote repeatedly until the input is on "TUNER" if you are using an RF cable or "COMPONENT" if you are using component A/V cable.

Your TV should now be setup for watching cable.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

Crk76vbl1 remote manual codes. I need codes

Hi,

You haven't specified which devices you need codes for, so I've provided a link where you view/download your manual containing all the codes and the programming instructions:

http://help.mtaonline.net/dtv/remotes/rca/images/Remote%20Codes.pdf

The manual will open in a new browser window. You can then print it - or save it to your desktop/documents folder for future reference by clicking on "File" in the top left corner of the browser window and choosing "Save As..." from the resulting drop-down menu. If you are unable to see the manual after clicking on the above link you may also need to download Adobe Reader:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Here is also a summary of the programming instructions for your remote:

Direct Entry
1. Turn on the component to be programmed.
2. Look up the brand and code number(s) for the component on the code list in this section.
3. Point the remote at the component.
4. Press and hold the component button you want to program on the remote.
5. Enter the 4-digit code from the remote control code list on the following pages. If the indicator flashes, you have either entered an invalid code or the button isn't programmable. For example, if your remote came with your DVD player, you cannot program the DVD button to control another DVD player.
6. Release the component button, and then press ON-OFF to see if the component responds to the command. If it doesn't, try pressing the component button and then ON-OFF again.

If you get no response, repeat these steps using the next code listed for your brand,
until the component responds to the remote commands.
If you try all the codes for your component brand and none work, try the automatic
code search method. If automatic code search doesn
't find the code, the remote is not
compatible with your component.
Hope this helps.

BElectric

1st time using component video connections on my onkyo

Yes, switch to the video input that you are trying to configure (i.e. video 1-4). Press the menu button on the receiver or the remote and cycle to video settings. There should be a setting that says "video output" or "output" - set that to component. You may also have to configure the Input for that particular setting. For instance, if you have an HD tivo going into component 2 but you want it to be Video 1. Select Video 1, hit the menu button and scroll to video setup. Select video input setup and cycle it to component 2. Next, use the menu to cycle to video setup, select video output, switch to component. This should solve your problem. As a sidenote, you may also have to configure the audio in/out if you're using digital coax or optical. Let me know if this works.
