Is distortion changes like we turn the OD/DS selector (changes to Boost-Natural-OD1-Blues etc)?
If so, the OD/DS potentiometer need to replace.Boss ME-70 distortion changing mid play why. - 24346541-2ss5ycyvkoajtv035dpuezke-4-0.jpg

If the changes are like increasing/decreasing GAIN/BASS/MID/TREBLE/LEVEL and also TYPE of pre-amp, then one of PREAMP potentiometer is bad.

SOURCE: The BOSS FDR-1 produces a popping sound when played

This is a common problem with this pedal experienced by allot of people. My best advice would be to sell it and put the money toward a real Fender tube amp and some good pickups. If you're trying to go cheap check out some Line 6 modeling stuff.

So when I'm using this RV-5 reverb pedal, input A seems to be fuzzy and give out a faint B flat like it's not connecting but i still get sound through it. It also pops and crunches A LOT when you...

Open and look for broken solder at the jack... common occurence when people step on plugs or cables going into these. Also look for circuit board cracks around the connector and also around the power input connector.

How to set a sustainer in zoom g1xn?

There is not a sustainer as such - However you can use the Decay parameter in the reverb module.
  1. Set the Module Selector knob to Reverb
  2. Choose a reverb type from H = hall, r = Room, s= Spring, A = Arena, t = tiled Room (arena 1 - should do it quite well)
  3. Turn the module knob to decay And rotate the value knob until the number 30 shows
Apart from that you may get a bit more sustain from using different Drive modules - the distortion drives such as Ed will give a longer sustain than the clean accoustic drive sounds.
Using heavier gauge strings on your guitar will also give longer sustain but make it a harder to play fast.

Happy with this product but, if i palm mute a chord, a boing sound follows behind... seems worse with the dist. dial turned past 11 o clock, whats going on? thanx- chris

When you palm mute you create a low frequency pulse which then "rings" in the DSP system of the distortion pedal. It is the nature of the beast. This pulse is to low to be heard directly and is kind of a "step response"... It is like plunking the springs in a reverb tank.

The amp will suddenly change sound adding reverb, slap back and bad distortion. I have to stop playing and turn it of and back one to get it to play corectly. Very frustrating when playing live....

Likelythe connections and or jack for the foot pedal control are making poor contact resulting in triggering these other modes. If not using the foot switch, probablly the problem is poor contact of the switches on the jack.

How do i connect the boss gt 10 to a fender blues deluxe amp and bypass the amps preamp

You can plug the output of the gt10 into the "power amp in" jack of the Fender. This bypasses the preamps in the Fender but uses a buffer amps in the Fender to drive the power amp. Please note that the reverb is STILL in the circuit when you do this. You can turn the reverb to zero if you wish to disable it.

My MT-2 wont distort my guitar.

A few things to try....

Usually the adapter will over ride the battery when used.
1) Make sure your 1/4" cables are working properly without the pedal "in-line".

2) Take out battery, and use just the adapter only. Make sure it is the correct and proper adapter that works with Boss. Usually the PSA-120. If you are not using a Boss Adapter, make sure yours is a direct replacement with same specifications. 9V/200mA. And "tip negative". DO NOT use Radio Shack stuff, nothing against them, but there adapters just don't mix well with Boss products and the like.

2) Try just the battery, no AC adapter. Remember to unplug the input when not in use. Saves battery.

Basic rule of thumb...when using correct AC adapters for all your pedals all the time, and all sounds good, then take out the batteries.

If you still experience problems, it would be an internal IC chip most likely. From there post another question maybe.

How to set up with amp and distortion pedal

With everything switched off. I will surmise that you are using the onboard battery with the foot pedal and not a power supply.
1. Plug lead from guitar/instrument into INPUT side of pedal
2. Plug lead from OUTPUT side of pedal into amplifier INPUT.
3. Turn amplifier volume to about 10 o'clock - to stop blowing your ears out.
4. Turn volume up on guitar to acceptable level.
5. press foot switch on pedal and adjust pedal controls to suit your type of distortion.
6. Play like Hendrix.
Good Luck
ps Just as an after thought rechargeable 9volt batteries are the way to go. I've been using them for years as I always get caught up in the power cable.
If you're going to add another pedal like a Phaser, Compressor, Flanger or what just use small connect leads between each pedal but always, always put the compressor pedal last in the line.

The distortion on my Boss DF-2 doesn't work. When I hit the switch it just comes on and then off

Sounds like a defective switch or bad solder joints connected to the switch. Boss uses momentary switches which turn on when the switch is pressed and turn back off when pressure is released. This engages a switching system. If the switch is engaging itself again while the button being depressed, it will cause it go off again. And a bad solder joint would do this too if the signal is not being jumped to the switching circuit properly.
