R12 & R13 resistor change MSI MS-9803 motherboard MSI PDF

MSI - Back in 2008 MSI issued a PDF regarding a resistor change to R12 & R13 on the GM965 MS-9803 motherboard. PDF describes how to change 2 resistors in order to allow the MS-9803 to use the Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Merom and Penryn chips. Is there any chance you might be able to send me that PDF? I found mention of this PDF in this forum post:: https://www.logicsupply.com/blog/2008/03/12/penryn-processors-and-the-gm965-mini-itx-mainboards/ Thank you. Regards Richard Sharisky

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: overclocking Pentium 3 667 MHz on MSI MS-6198 Motherboard

some pentiums are locked at the set speed but there are no jumpers you have to alter the settings are in the bios eg the timing and there may be step ups to increase the processor speed, but remember you get far faster response times by fitting more memory as overclocking can cause overheating and crashes.

May be you do not have appropriate drivers for your motherboard. You can download them from the following website
http://www.driverstock.com/MSI-MS-6390-driver-download/14-9-11561/index.html

In case this does not resolve your problem, then please provide some more information about your issue.

I HAVE ONE MOTHER BOARD MS--639O VER:30B AND

HP motherboards are made by a motherboard manufacturer, for HP.

Typically Asus and Foxconn.

These manufacturers are the only ones, that would have direct values given for components used on that motherboard.

For example such as the capacitor's coded c212, and c209. (Code stamped on the motherboard next to the component)

Same thing with resistor's r9, r10, r12, and r13. However, the value should be coded on those resistors, just like any resistor. Use the color bands.

A lot of times Electrolytic Capacitors that are of cheap quality, are not marked except for a manufacturer code marking. By the Electrolytic Capacitor manufacturer.

You may, or may not have luck in finding what that manufacturers code is.
First thing you need to find is what manufacturer it is.

Generally, manufacturers use a symbol for their name. Sometimes they stamp their name. Example Sanyo.
From there you can find out the needed information.
I believe the following article may help you in your endeavor,

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/595/2

(The above is Page 2. You may wish to start at the beginning of the article, also.

At the bottom of the written text, you'll see 1, 2, 3, and 4 in blue for the page numbers)

You can also tell me what you see on those capacitors, and I'll try to help identify them, and their values.
Just post this information in a Comment.

Hi,
If you can boot the machine into windows, change the date and time and go to MSI support website and download the latest BIOS update for that model motherboard and install it, that should resolve your problem.
If you need anymore help or advice please post back.
