My 1992 chevy g20 van surges and i'm not sure exactly why. I changed the pcv valve, fuel filter, spark plugs, and air filter. What are some possibilities

My first thought would be a vacuum leak in one of the hoses. Rubber hoses get brittle with age and even a small crack in a hose may cause surging. Happened to me in a Lumina.

My 10 year old Marantz SR-14 EX used to work perfectly, but has just decided to not turn on. Never abused, no water damage, just no power. The unswitched plug works, but not the switched plug. Any easy...

It's probably just an age issue. Capacitors in the power supply can dry out and not charge properly, and that would be a good place to start looking for problems. Sometimes you can see obvious signs of failure, like bulgy or split tops. Other times the only way to tell is by measuring the part's value. Another common problem is rectifier diodes that break down and short, or may have been damaged by power line surges. They cause the line fuse to blow when they fail, so if you find a blown fuse this may be why. Most shops have a small charge to check over a receiver, and it might be worth paying to have this looked at. Then you can make your decision.

Car is idling fine; however, when the accelerator is applied, it surges, and if the car is put in gear, it surges so severly that there is little power

it is either a failed injector, injector with loose wire/connector, fouled sparkplug, worn HT lead or the temp sender on the engine - hyundai charge a fair bit for testing and the temp sender is usually only £27.00 at (local cheap) motor parts shop

The freezer fan surges, it sounds like it actually is cutting off and starts back up immediately. It does this occasionally, not all the time. The unit is 4 years old.

Transmission surges engine light on,car is not abused, only has 81,000

You need to see what code is causing the check engine light to come on.
Also check the big black air intake tube from the air filter box to the throttle body and make sure it both sides are on all the way and clamps tight. If its loose it will pull away from the throttle body on acceleration causing surging and possibly a lean code.
